Grab a coffee, find a cozy corner, and dive into discussions about projects, industry challenges, and what it takes to thrive. There’s something about that familiar, reliable meeting spot—no boardrooms, just real talk—that fosters trust and focus. As a sub-trade, I often approach things with a different lens—zooming in on execution—while my friend offers the GC’s strategic, high-level perspective. Together, we balance each other, solving obstacles and tackling the intricacies of each project. These meetings remind me: that collaboration goes beyond contracts. It’s about trust, respect, and a genuine willingness to listen and learn. A question that I get asked fairly often: "Why is company culture so important at Bama?" The culture is important because otherwise it would ruin your business. The people in the plants are our lifeline. They are producing product or dealing with customers and are the lifeline to what we do. If they feel mistreated or neglected or not heard, it could be a very bad thing for us. So, we go back to the basics. We want our team members to take care of themselves first. Take care of their health, their family, their medical situation, and their bills. We want people to be part of what we do. We talk with them about what is bothering them. We want to make sure that all of our team members take care of each other and we work hard to make sure that they do.

Thank you Owen Sutter for speaking to our club about your project and product manager role at TTI in Vietnam. It was refreshing to hear about Owen’s experiences while working internationally, navigating meetings across different time zones, and communicating with people from different cultural backgrounds.
