re:Invent is here!
These days, and this has been true for the past couple of years - my highlight tech event of the year is AWS re:Invent. It is an event that ties into the tech we use daily. It also gives glimpses at new possibilities, for us and more importantly for our customers. What updates and additions can directly impact our clients, making the solutions cleaner, more robust and very importantly more cost effective. This year seems to be no exception!
In the first event alone, we see a lot of improvement in the various monitoring services, such as CloudWatch - allowing for powerful integrations with services such as OpenSearch (which is the AWS fork of Elastic Search before it closed it’s source).
This allows you to quickly and efficiently diagnose a problem and get to the source of it quickly.
There are also some enhancements to services that can increase control of resources to prevent problems, such as Declarative policies. These policies are designed to stay in place despite changes to services or their API’s, improving the rigidity of your solution over time.
There’s lots to get into, and I’m cherry picking some great sessions to get excited about over the next few days.

One day I hope to go to the event in person, but until then, it’s very convenient to sip my favorite drink and take it all in!
