One of the biggest challenges we've seen in 2024? Vulnerable supply chains + limited data = massive losses for renewable energy projects. A delay of only 3 months can wipe out €60 million of a project’s value. Much like a cat swiping at Christmas baubles, these challenges keep coming at you, seemingly out of nowhere—relentless, unpredictable, and capable of wreaking havoc. And in renewable energy, the baubles under attack are: 🔵 Supply-demand imbalances and stretched supply chains, with port congestions causing 4+ month delays. 🔵 Geopolitical and climate risks disrupting raw material supplies (e.g. US-China tensions, droughts in water-intensive sectors). 🔵 Growing regulatory scrutiny, with EU fines of up to 2% of sales turnover for non-compliance. 💪 What do I predict for renewable energy supply chains in 2025? 💪 1️⃣ Increased investment in real-time supply chain data to spot disruptions before they hit. 2️⃣ Building long-term supplier resilience and rethinking sourcing strategies to optimise spend. 3️⃣ Shifting to risk-based procurement, balancing cost, quality, and sustainability to maximize returns. The question isn’t whether disruptions will happen—it’s whether your strategy is ready to handle them. P.S. No cats were harmed in the making of this video; only Christmas baubles.
Justice for the Christmas baubles 🎄! Through better visibility and more resilient supply chains 😉
Nicely put!
