In 2015 no one wanted to publish our books So we took the ‘do it yourself’ approach and wrote a short book called 'How to overcome your confidence gremlins' which we printed and published ourselves It’s easy to look back on your early work and feel embarrassed by it, which has definitely been my perspective in the past Now I see that every action, piece of work, project you do moves you forward, sometimes inches, sometimes miles. The first version of confidence gremlins gave us the chance to practise writing together and to test our ideas with more people. And this week, 8 years later, we published our new illustrated book gremlins in partnership with The Pound Project It’s a completely new book, with different words, actions, tools, frameworks and illustrations but it wouldn’t be here without that early version I’ll always be grateful for that early scrappy book as it meant we did something that’s hard to do.... 〰️ we got started 〰️ ⍰ If you have any questions about the book writing and/or publishing process let me know in the comments below and I’ll do my best to answer ⬇️ Link if you'd like to pre-order Gremlins in comments (only available to buy through pre-order) #books #squigglycareers #gremlins #confidence

Nothing goes wasted, including what we suffer and what can appear as a step backwards. Congratulations Sarah Ellis for newly illustrated and rebirth of 8 year old idea. Is this new version for children or adults or both?

Another inspiring post Sarah Ellis! When I next meet my mentee, I plan to bring along some of my early-career, rough-round-the-edges stuff, so we can talk about the long #squigglycareer journey: How where you end up might not be where you began, as tech and the work landscape develop.
