Boss: "Unfortunately we can't afford the pay raise." HR Manager: "They were a top performer." Boss: "We still can't afford it." HR Manager: "Then we should definitely pay it so they don't leave." Boss: "That doesn't makes sense." HR Manager: "It actually makes a lot of sense." Boss: "How so?" HR Manager: "If we can't afford a cost of living increase, then we can't afford to advertise the position, interview, hire, onboard, train, and pay the replacement." It costs less to keep your employees than to replace them, especially good ones. #wordsofwisdom #copied #corporatestories #hrstories

Retaining your top talent is way better than hiring new employees and then training them from scratch. That's how employee wellbeing and organisational success works. 💯

Couldn't agree more with the Boss's perspective! Retaining top talent should be a priority for every organization, especially in today's competitive market. While it may seem like a cost-saving measure to avoid pay raises, the reality is that the cost of turnover far outweighs the cost of retaining valuable employees. It's more cost-effective to invest in retaining existing talent than to incur the expenses associated with hiring and training replacements. #InvestInTalent
