Full Professor, University of Belgrade, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Subject Editor - International Journal of Hydrogen Energy by Elsevier, Reviewer - European Research Council (ERC), Executive Committee - ESIS
It is always challenging but rewarding to serve as a reviewer in a prestigious scientific journals with an Impact factor larger than 10. I thoroughly enjoyed reviewing articles submitted to the following top journals in materials science: 1. Chemical Reviews, ISSN: 0009-2665, Impact factor (2022): 62.1 2. Science, ISSN: 0036-8075, Impact factor (2022): 56.9 3. Current Opinion in Solid State and Materials Science, ISSN: 1359-0286, Impact factor (2022): 11.0 4. Journal of Materials Science and Technology, ISSN: 005-0302, Impact factor (2022): 10.9 5. Critical Reviews in Solid State and Materials Sciences, ISSN: 1040-8436, Impact factor (2022): 10.8 It is satisfying to give something back to the research community regarding peer review. I am thankful to the Editorial team of the mentioned journals, Elsevier, Springer Nature Group, American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Chemical Society, and Taylor & Francis Group, for this trust and opportunity. #science #materialsscience #materialsresearch #engineering #hydrogenembrittlement #materials #mechanicalengineering #peerreview

If you are writing your first paper....some really good tips.
Are you a #PhD student and want to write your first paper? Below I quote the paragraphs that I loved the most from the article in ACS Phys. Chem. Au: 1. "You might be in the fortunate situation of having a mentor who is training you in this process or even formal courses as part of your studies. But even if you do not, there is nothing to worry about─there are many resources available to help you get started." 2. "Write the kind of papers you love to read. All readers will be grateful for every effort you make to explain your ideas in a clear and informative fashion." "... keep the writing concise! You want to provide the clearest presentation of your science in the simplest style." 3. "You might read for 3 h to write one sentence. You might plot your data three different ways before you understand the clearest, most effective way to show your results. You might take a whole day to make a single figure or 20 min to write a figure caption. " 4. "... write the paper your results support, not the paper you hoped to write at the start of the project." 5. "You need to manage your coauthors’ expectations and make sure you work in a way that minimizes the chances that you end up with a big job rewriting the paper because your coauthors are not satisfied." 6. And finally: "Write a paper you are proud of." "This paper is the lasting mark of your research in the world." In other words, don't publish a lot of papers that no one will care about. Publish a few but thorough and deep ones. Be proud of your masterpieces! They will count in a long run. [The article was written by Gemma Solomon, Jin Zhong Zhang, and Tanja Cuk, the Editors of ACS Phys. Chem. Au. We have extended the application deadline to the 14th of February for the following Industrial PhD position. Don't hesitate to apply 📖 Do you want to obtain a PhD from DTU while working at Visibuilt – a fast-growing, visionary, and climate-ambitious start-up located near Copenhagen? Then you should consider applying for one of our industrial PhD's. The PhD project aims to investigate and characterize the thermomechanical properties of compacted granular blends that are bound by Visibuilt’s fungal-derived binders. This effort will involve advanced laboratory tests alongside the development of constitutive models that mathematically capture and represent the material’s response to mechanical loadings, temperature and moisture changes, and time/aging effects. The main academic supervision will be given by our Associate Professor Eyal Levenberg. You can read more about the position at the following link and in the attached pdf: https://lnkd.in/d4bgG65A #PhD #industrialPhD #collaboration #research #education #engineering
