I've decided to make my "secret goal" not so secret anymore ... That goal is, each day, to be a bright spot for somebody, to make somebody's day. Some days, it might be my kids, or my wife, or even me. I've been trying in at least small ways to make that true for other people for a while now. For instance, I've been closing most emails I send with a "Hope you're having a fantastic Friday!" for a long while now. Or a "thunderous Thursday" or "whimsical Wednesday", what have you. It's what my company is trying to do, too ... to lighten the load, brighten the mood, make the world a little bit sunnier and happier. More on this, and fine dining lessons for software engineering cultures, in this week's newsletter, linked in the comments. Plus! A sneak peek at some upcoming product releases this month - one of which will launch a presale on Monday if everything goes to plan ... Oh! And, if you've made it this far, I _really do_ hope you're having a fantastic day, whatever day the LinkedIn algo decides to show this to you. I'm having a fantastic Friday myself.

It’s just another manic Monday, it certainly does not have to be! Monday’s are a great day to reset, set goals and plan out your week. Having a plan for your week sets your path, effort, energy and expectations. What do you have going on this week: meetings, practices, church service or dinner with friends. What do you want to accomplish: going through the kids clothes, organizing your desk, running that errand (that you have been putting off for the last 3 months). What has to get done no matter what: pay bills, monthly closeout/reports, grocery shopping. Set what has to happen, what’s going to happen and what you want to happen in that order set your path. Have a joyful, peaceful and successful week! ☀️

Did you know Mondays are statistically one of the best days for follow-ups? (Yep, it’s true!) Studies show a 30% higher response rate today than on other days. Why? People are refreshed, ready to roll, and often most focused after the weekend. And here’s a mind-blowing stat for those of us in sales: 80% of sales require five or more follow-ups before closing. So if last week’s lead went quiet? Today might be the day they finally reply! Mondays are a fresh start and a golden chance to get in front of clients who might be in “action mode.” Let’s Make Monday Count! 1. Prioritize Follow-Ups – Start with last week’s ‘maybes.’ Today could change their minds! 2. Lead with Positivity – Studies show 45% of deals go to the first person who follows up. So a friendly nudge today? It could be all it takes. 3. Show Up with Intention – People respond to people. Show up authentically, and let them see why they’d want to work with "you". So here’s the challenge: take 15 minutes to reconnect with someone today. That one follow-up could lead to a major win! Ready to make Monday your launchpad for the week? Let’s go! Tell me what trick you use in your follow ups in comment so others can use it too!

Happy Friday everyone. Here’s something to reflect on over the weekend perhaps… Today’s read is about 2-3 minutes. Post-read pondering not included. Too often we consider things from a binary perspective. People, heck, life is multi-faceted and simplifying it down to just one or the other thing loses all the complexity that makes it wonderful. In any relationship, we can focus on the differences or the similarities, and what we focus on becomes our reality. We get to choose. https://lnkd.in/gnmsQ3uY Last week’s riddle question and answer; What has hands but cannot clap? A Clock (But I loved the T-Rex guess too!) This week’s riddle is; What belongs to you, but others use it more than you do? Did you know? Should you ever want to look back on old versions of these, you can find them here https://lnkd.in/evtXrG-q Time for a moment to reflect, I think.

Today’s Positive Thought 03-15-24 What has already happened has indeed set the stage for what is to come. However, your past does not have to control your future, because you can control and direct what you do right now. After life has dealt you a setback, it may seem reasonable to lower your expectations. And yet, it is in fact just as reasonable, and much more advisable, to raise those expectations. Use this moment to break the pattern. Stop looking down on what has been and choose to look upward to the best that can be. You are more experienced, more knowledgeable, and more determined than ever before. So, raise your expectations accordingly, and form your expectations based on the best you know you can be. Happy Friday!

Sunday is like archery for me: (How to make Mondays great) Sundays are where I start to pull back the arrow; getting ready to launch it on Monday. But I need to make sure I am aiming it in the right direction. My method and what has been working super well for me is: 1. Look through my notebook of all my notes. 2. Make a list of the things I missed. 3. Delete the things that dont matter anyway but felt important in the moment. 4. Update my calendar. 5. Realign the week with my spouse. Now I am ready to release the arrow Monday morning. Hopefully hitting the bulls eye. Before writing stuff down and being consistent about looking through my notebook I trusted my gut on what to do. That didn't always show to be the most efficient way of doing it. If you should take one thing from this post then it is: Write stuff down every day and review it once a week. Happy Sunday!
