Since the beginning of this year, I have been working on an app. The essence of this app https://lnkd.in/gxZrHMEJ is to provide businesses, especially startups and SMEs with the ability to get top tech/ creative talent, online. They can also create gigs and manage them from the application. Likewise, the app also provides developers/ creatives with the ability to apply for jobs and work online. So think of this as a project management/ job application platform. 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞? Perhaps the most important feature of this app is the payment system. For a long period, we have had cases of people paying for services, especially online services such as software development, and getting short-changed. This is damaging to the industry since it leads to a loss of credibility. I have also come across people who say they prefer not to work with Kenyan devs. They would rather work with Pakistanis or Indians. In the same breath, devs/ creatives have also lost a lot of income due to non-payment by their clients. So the main purpose of this app is to safeguard both client and freelancer by ensuring project requirements are met and payment is made. How does it work? You might ask. Once the client initiates the project, he makes payment and we hold it in escrow until the project is complete. And only then do we release payment. If there are any disputes, both parties can raise the issue with us. Essentially, we are acting as a third party. There are multiple use cases for this platform, it doesn't even need to be tech-related or creative work. We are even planning on introducing direct contracts. Whereby, if you are selling a car or property, you can also use the app for its escrow services. Thus helping to curb cases of fraud and theft. From a much broader perspective, my aim for the app is to enable any techie or creative to work from anywhere, anytime and receive payment. Likewise, I would like to enable entrepreneurs to obtain top talent affordably and to manage work from wherever they are. You don't even have to be a business owner. Think of any idea you have. You might need a logo. Or you need a software developer to bring your idea to life. You can simply advertise these services on the app in a few short steps. I invite all techies to test the app for any kind of vulnerabilities or bugs. The app is still pretty much off the box, so you can tell that there is much to do, especially in the way of frontend development and UI/UX So I am open to anyone who can bring in skills onboard. I want this to be purely a community-driven initiative. Developed by Kenyan techies and creatives. For the benefit of Kenyans. Otherwise, thank you for your patronage
