Hinjawadi’s Traffic Woes Cause 37 IT Companies to Exit Maharashtra: The city of Pune, which was once famous for its pleasant atmosphere, is currently stuck in a traffic jam. The network of trains in Hinjewadi IT Park is increasing day by day. Big companies like Infosys, Wipro, Tata, Mahindra and thousands of employees working in hundreds of IT companies get stuck in this traffic jam almost every day. Almost one and a half to two and a half hours are lost in traffic jams. During monsoons, the problem becomes more serious. Nearly 37 companies have migrated due to this traffic jam. Hinjewadi Industries Association gave shocking information that many more companies are on the way to migration. There are around 150 companies in Hinjewadi IT Park. About 5 lakh people work there. 1 lakh cars ply in Hinjewadi every day. Each car stays on the road for one and a half to two hours. As a result, fuel worth lakhs of rupees is wasted. In addition, companies lose 25 dollars per hour. Now it is feared that the problem of unemployment will become serious due to migration of IT companies. Hinjewadi Gram Panchayat has also demanded serious attention to this. Industries Minister Uday Samant has replied that when Zee 24 hours draws the attention of the Industries Minister, he will get the information. At present Bhujbal Chowk and Bhumkar Chowk are the only options to reach Hinjewadi. But soon the Shivajinagar Metro line will start from Man Hinjewadi. Due to this, it is estimated that the traffic problem will be reduced. The local administration needs to pay urgent attention to this problem. Because Maharashtra cannot afford the migration of IT companies

India's transportation landscape has undergone a significant transformation in recent years due to the government's push for electric vehicles. E-rickshaws have become increasingly popular in Tier II and III cities, where conventional public transport is either limited or inadequate, providing last-mile connectivity and easing intra-city commutes. However, this has also led to challenges such as unregulated operation, traffic congestion, and disruption of vehicular traffic flows caused by the lack of designated routes. On the manufacturing and demand side, many smaller towns have emerged as key markets for e-rickshaws, driven by factors such as improved access to bank loans and initiatives of rural electrification. The government has made efforts to regulate the operation and registration of e-rickshaws since 2014, especially in cities like Delhi. However, the challenges of implementing such regulations are more complex in Tier II and III cities, where transportation remains fairly informal. While e-rickshaws show potential in improving connectivity and driving economic gains for low-income groups, there are also issues of traffic congestion, illegal parking, decreased walkability, and bottlenecks in regulation that need to be addressed. To read more about India’s e-mobility sector and its challenges, head over to our website without a paywall to read Anusha Arif’s paper, Powering Progress of Last-mile Connectivity: E-rickshaws & Mobility in Tier II & III cities in India #sprf #sprfresearch #india #ev #ERickshaw #tier2 #tier3 #cities #delhi #mobility #publictransport #thinktank #publicpolicy #sprfindia

The Honorable Nitin Gadkari Ji Urgent Request to Address Road Issues in Pune, Hinjewadi SEZ Economic Zone, I am writing to bring to your kind attention the severe road issues faced by commuters in the Hinjewadi IT sector in Pune. Hinjewadi, being a major hub for numerous IT companies, witnesses heavy traffic congestion daily, causing significant inconvenience to thousands of professionals and residents. The primary concerns are as follows: 👉🏻Traffic Congestion: The existing road infrastructure is inadequate to handle the high volume of vehicles, leading to severe traffic jams, especially during peak hours. This not only affects the daily commute but also hampers productivity and increases fuel consumption. 👉🏻Poor Road Conditions: Many stretches of the road are in a state of disrepair, with potholes and uneven surfaces posing a safety hazard to commuters. The recent monsoon has further exacerbated these issues. 👉🏻 Insufficient Traffic Management: The absence of effective traffic management measures, such as proper signaling and regulation, adds to the chaos, leading to frequent accidents and delays. The daily struggles and frustrations faced by IT employees due to these issues are not just a matter of personal inconvenience but have broader implications for the economy. The productivity loss stemming from long commutes and the mental and physical stress on employees can impact the overall performance and output of the IT sector. As this sector significantly contributes to the national economy through exports and employment, any hindrance to its efficiency can have a ripple effect on economic growth. Given the economic significance of Hinjewadi as an IT hub, it is imperative to address these issues urgently. Therefore, I kindly request your esteemed office to take the following actions: 🫵🏻 Infrastructure Improvement: Upgrade and expand the existing road network to accommodate the increasing traffic demands. 🫵🏻 Road Maintenance: Initiate immediate repairs and regular maintenance of the roads to ensure safe and smooth travel for commuters. 🫵🏻 Enhanced Public Transport: Introduce and promote efficient public transportation options to reduce the dependency on private vehicles. 🫵🏻 Traffic Management: Implement advanced traffic management systems, including proper signaling and surveillance, to streamline traffic flow and enhance safety. Your intervention and prompt action in this matter will be highly appreciated and will significantly improve the daily lives of thousands of professionals and residents in the Hinjewadi area. Addressing these issues will not only alleviate the frustration of IT employees but also support the sustained growth of the sector and, by extension, the national economy. Yours sincerely, Mayur Ovhal #IT #Hinjewadi #roadissue #Pune #Maharshtra #PuneMetro

**Feeling Unsafe in Bengaluru: A Growing Concern** Recently, a disturbing incident occurred with a friend of mine who had booked a cab from Karnataka airport to Majestic Railway Station. The driver insisted on canceling the ride because he felt the fare was insufficient, despite what the app displayed. When my friend refused, the driver became aggressive, using foul language and threateningly declaring, "I AM LOCAL—don't argue with me." This phrase, "I AM LOCAL," has unfortunately started to be used as a tool of intimidation against non-locals in Karnataka. It's alarming to see increasing hostility from cab drivers, bike riders, and even pedestrians towards those who don't fit their perceived local profile. Reports of threats and aggressive behavior on the roads have become more common, creating a sense of insecurity among residents and visitors alike. It's troubling that despite these incidents, there seems to be a lack of effective action from Karnataka's police and government officials. Recent statements from the Chief Minister about job reservations for locals further fuel this sense of division and exclusion. Bengaluru, once hailed as the Silicon Valley of India, now feels increasingly unsafe. This shift in atmosphere, coinciding with the current government’s tenure, raises concerns about whether there is a broader agenda behind this rising hostility. Is the government condoning or even encouraging this environment? Are officials and politicians somehow behind this unsettling trend? #UnsafeBengaluru #UnsafeKarnataka #CommunitySafety #Bengaluru Uber Ola Namma Yatri I don't know what these people do after this post. I am scared... Times Now

Chat with your taxi driver for a deeper understanding of the economy and business; you'll likely glean more insights than from any big-four report. 🚕 Recently in Surat, the epicenter of India's 👕 textile and 💎 diamond industries, my Uber driver mentioned how I was only his fifth ride of the day by noon, compared to his previous early-morning rush, a few months ago. When I asked why, he attributed it to fewer commuters traveling to and from the textile markets, reflecting a drop in industry demand.( It's interesting to see here, how commute can be a proxy to understand the demand within an industry) He also shared a concerning anecdote about an Amazon business development agent who, for the first time, returned without securing any business, indicative of broader market challenges. Further, he gave me a quite interesting breakdown of how much the agent's stay would have costed vs the business he made - highlighting the ROI. ( must add it was quite cool actually) These conversations prompted me to delve into textile market research, revealing significant trends: - Supply and demand are heavily influenced by a few key players dictating prices, despite efforts to stimulate demand, which remains stagnant. Both export and domestic demand are suffering. - Consumer behavior is evolving, with a growing demand for fair employment practices and sustainable logistics. - A quote from The Hindu highlighted the struggles of traditional textile mills in Andhra Pradesh, indicating a broader industry decline exacerbated by high cotton prices and utility costs. Despite these challenges, there's an opportunity for industry players to shift from mere manufacturers to essential stakeholders in the product lifecycle. By exploring sustainable business models and system design, they can foster a more cohesive ecosystem. In summary, these insights underscore the value of grassroots perspectives and hint at potential avenues for industry adaptation and innovation. Your thoughts and comments are welcome below."

Professional Courier’s Unprofessional Behavior I recently shipped a courier from Pune under the "urgent category" on the 12th of August, expecting swift and timely delivery due to the critical nature of the documents. The courier arrived at the Nagpur office on the 16th of August, but to my surprise and frustration, it was not delivered until the evening of the 17th, despite being marked as urgent. Upon inquiring, the regional manager in Nagpur, Mr. Viju Tandel(8108112759), informed me that the courier would only be delivered on the 18th of August due to "less manpower." This explanation is not only unacceptable but also highlights a significant lapse in professionalism. The delivery address was a mere 300 meters from the Nagpur office, yet no effort was made to ensure timely delivery. In the end, I had to send someone from my team to pick up the package in person, defeating the purpose of using an urgent courier service. Even normal deliveries are typically handled more efficiently than what I experienced with this so-called urgent service. This incident has left me questioning the reliability and commitment of Professional Courier, especially when their urgent service couldn't meet basic expectations. This level of service is unacceptable, particularly when even standard delivery services, such as those provided by Indian Post, are faster. This behavior is highly unprofessional and has caused unnecessary inconvenience, leading me to reconsider using their services in the future and create awareness about this in society. https://lnkd.in/dFAYWpWZ #Professionalcouriers #ProfessionalCouriersPvtLtd

This is the first time in my life that I've encountered such poor and sluggish logistics service from a courier or logistics company. My parcel was dispatched from a city in Gujarat and was supposed to arrive in a small town in Punjab. It’s been about 10 days since it left, and somehow it was mistakenly rerouted and is now showing as being in a town near Pune, Maharashtra—about 1500 kilometers away from its intended destination in Punjab. Despite providing the correct address, as clearly stated on the docket slip, the parcel was redirected incorrectly and has been sitting in Maharashtra for over 10 days. No one from the company has called or even shown any concern that the parcel is stranded in the wrong place. I have never encountered such poor service from any transportation or logistics company before. There has been no communication from the company—no call or message to inform me that the parcel was misrouted or will be delayed for any reason. We had to track the parcel ourselves, only to be informed by the representative, with a simple "sorry," that it was sent to the wrong location by mistake. There appears to be no oversight in ensuring the correct address or destination. My parcel has simply been sent off and left unattended. This experience has been disappointing, to say the least, and I would strongly advise choosing a reliable company for logistics services. This is my personal experience, based on the truth, and I have the proof to back it up. On top of all this, the company’s customer care service is also not functional. They might have even provided incorrect contact numbers on their website. When you try calling, it either says the number is busy or invalid. Now, what should I do? I have to email them, track it myself, and still have no easy way to resolve this. It’s unclear why they don’t make the system user-friendly to avoid causing customers so much trouble. This approach seems like an inefficient way to handle services, as the focus should be on providing smooth and hassle-free service to customers. I have no idea what will happen now or when my parcel will finally reach me. #tcifreight TCI Group (Transport Corporation of India Limited)
