After watching an insightful Think School ® video on the Make in India initiative, I felt a deeper connection to the work we’re doing in this field. I’ve always loved Think School’s case studies—they break down complex topics with real, relatable insights. Since I’m currently working with Machine Maker Maker, supporting Indian manufacturers through projects aligned with Make in India, this video hit especially close to home. Working in this sector, I often get to attend exhibitions and events, and each one teaches me something new. Recently, I learned about cutting tools, the intricate machine parts, and the massive effort behind building machines that power our industries. Coming from a non-technical background, I’ve begun to truly appreciate just how complex and valuable this field is. The video highlighted some critical challenges standing in the way of Make in India’s success—like our reliance on imports, policy delays that make it tough for new businesses, and infrastructure that just isn’t up to pace. But it also covered practical ways forward: streamlining policies, investing in infrastructure, and focusing on skill development to create a skilled workforce. It made me realize that we’re moving in the right direction, even if the journey is slow. I honestly think everyone interested or working in manufacturing should watch this video. State of Knowledge-Intensive Business Services (KIBS) in India The growing importance of knowledge and innovation in the present era motivated the author to study knowledge-intensive business services (KIBS) in general and the case of India in particular. The purpose of this paper is to track in brief the strength of India’s economy lying in growth of knowledge-intensive services (KIS), which if harnessed properly can lead to its transition to a knowledge economy. More specifically, the paper tries to address two important questions: first, what constitutes KIS and KIBS? And second, how has KIBS been performing in India?

Under PM Modi's leadership, India is at a "historic sweet spot" with geopolitical, technological, and leadership forces aligning for growth. Oxford's study praises PRAGATI for turning bureaucratic hurdles into opportunities, inspiring global South nations. Since its inception in 2015, PRAGATI has fast-tracked over 340 projects worth ₹17.05 lakh crore. Projects like the Bogibeel Bridge in Assam, delayed for decades, were completed after being personally reviewed by the Prime Minister. This platform isn’t just about resolving bottlenecks—it's about fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and collaboration across the nation. What makes PRAGATI unique is its combination of leadership-driven execution, where PM Modi’s hands-on involvement ensures progress on complex and critical projects, and technological integration, with tools like real-time data and drone feeds streamlining decision-making. While global experts praise India’s model as an inspiration for emerging economies, domestic opposition often remains stuck in politics over progress. Brilliant India Stack explainer from economist Neelkanth Mishra, UIDAI chair (part-time) Mishra says a sutradhar is needed to make Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) like India Stack a success. Citing iSPIRT as an example, a sutradhar’s job is to bring disparate threads called ‘government’ and ‘private sector’ together to successfully execute DPI projects, Mishra said. DPI is a long game so a sutradhar must take a 10-15 year view of projects.
