In the first 6 months of founding ConvergeX Connections....I was talked out of walking away from it approximately 4812 times....had I done the right thing? I have learned just about every single lesson there is to learn in business, the hardest way possible. I have been in sales for 20 years, but it turns out that doesn't convert into being a CEO as easily as I thought..... It has been REALLY hard starting with no funding, no potential clients...and short of my expertise in the field....no real idea of where this would end up. I have never worked harder, slept less or worried more. But.... 12 months in, we are about to embark on a tour with one of the biggest companies on the planet. I have some INCREDIBLE clients that have trusted us with their marketing budgets and GTM plans. I have built an exceptional team ( my idea of keeping my staff level below 10 lasted about a week) that work AND care about what we do just as much as I do. Our results are backed by our testimonials, and a calendar that is now full for the foreseeable future....and we are growing at a rate I still have a hard time processing. This isn't a brag. This is a thankyou. To everyone in my network that has given me advice. To every member of my family, and friendship group, that believed that I would make this work. To every single client, new and existing, that have repeatedly decided that the ConvergeX ethos matches theirs... I will continue to strive to make a difference in this industry. We will ALWAYS put what our clients need first and 12 months down the line.....I wouldn't give this up for anything. AgTech Friends (in the Bay Area or visiting!) - see below for an in person get together that Sachi Desai, Rhishi P. and I are co-hosting in a couple of weeks. We are excited to get everyone together live so we can catch up in person and share what's going on with everyone and with AgTech. We have a lot of fun talking about the space and thought getting a bigger group together once in a while would be even more fun - especially based on occasions where we get to do so like World Agri-Tech and World Ag Expo. I think Sachi may have been taking some Founder Mode (All In podcast joke for those that missed last episode) - this won't quite make it to 2000s really dope rave status (not that I would know - I had either 4 or 5 kids in the 2000s ...) I think of it more as How I Met Your Mother meets Big Bang Theory over dinner, where AgTech geeks get to be the cool kids for a night! For those old enough to remember MUGs (Macintosh User Groups), that's the vibe I think we're going for but our Fat Mac (256k - who could need more?) has been replaced by autonomous tractors and super cool gene editing tools!
