Are you using #Veeam and #VMware (still) or #HyperV? Watched the live demo today of Veeam Software migrating a server to Proxmox in a few clicks. The first impression was excellent. This makes migrations from VMware and HyperV to Proxmox smooth and fast. Proxmox can also be used as a disaster recovery site. Migration from Any to Proxmox. That will make anyone happy!

Just as so many people in the field of system integration and development, also I am involved in virtualization solutions, such as VMWare as such solutions can most of all simplify the IT and OT operations and management. Recently, as most people will know, VMWare has been taken over by Broadcom, leading to a lot of unrest in the market, also see: (Dutch article) https://lnkd.in/esAwDHzd and many more articles. All the more reason to keep working towards Open Source solutions such as Proxmox, which provide a valid alternative, bringing the benefits of virtualization and effectively, by the Open Source nature, keeping the vendor from being 'locked-in'. As virtualization solutions are more and more getting a foothold, also on board of ships, I am very curious to learn how other people view this matter. What do you think of these recent events and how to you view the future, especially when it comes to on-board system integration? I welcome any reponse below.
