CASE – Recruitment of Mechanical Engineers. The recruitment process was for a Danish based consulting firm specializing in analysis, advisory, and product development within mechanical construction/design. They sought to hire engineers focusing on mechanical design. The candidate needed a solid educational background and a natural curiosity regarding modern technologies and materials. Understanding of electrical engineering was also important, alongside strong abilities to approach problems from new perspectives and quickly move from idea to first prototype. The process began with market mapping and contacting potential candidates, introducing them to the company and the core tasks of the role. This approach generated interest in our client and identified a pool of candidates for interviews, several of whom subsequently met with the client. During these meetings, two brief cases were conducted for dual purposes: assessing candidates' ability to handle client interactions and present technically complex material concisely, and evaluating their overall competency and understanding of mechanical design. These assessments were supplemented by personality- and cognitive tests, as well as references from previous employers, ensuring the customer the most informed decision-making process possible.
