Just got back from AFROTECH 2024, and it was an incredible experience! As a young designer passionate about AI and tech, I was inspired and empowered by meeting so many brilliant minds—especially those who look like me and come from similar backgrounds, making big moves in the industry. From networking with amazing individuals to speaking with top tech leaders, I walked away feeling energized and ready to embrace the future. My main takeaway: AI is the new way of life. Embrace it. Master it. Because we are already behind. #AfroTech2024 #AI #TechInnovation #Networking

AFROTECH 2024 reflections. One of the most impactful sessions for me focused on the critical need for formal training around generative AI. The speakers stressed that while this technology is revolutionizing industries—streamlining workflows, enhancing creativity, and personalizing solutions—its potential can only be fully realized if organizations invest in robust, targeted training programs-which has always been my challenge. Beyond teaching the technical skills to use AI tools, the session emphasized the importance of educating employees on the ethical considerations and long-term implications of AI adoption in the workplace. As someone in learning and development, I left with a renewed sense of purpose to help bridge this knowledge gap and design impactful training that prepares teams for the future of work. What resonated deeply was the idea that embracing AI responsibly isn’t just about keeping up with innovation—it’s about creating equitable, empowered workforces that use these tools to make meaningful contributions. AFROTECH reminded me of the power of community, knowledge, and action. As I head back to Philadelphia, I’m grateful for the connections I made and the insights I gained, and I’m excited to start turning them into strategies that help others grow. If you’ve never attended AFROTECH, I can’t recommend it enough—it’s more than a conference; it’s a call to shape the future together. I’m heading back to Philly energized, inspired, and ready to practically applylearned. If you’re in the tech or professional development space and haven’t attended AFROTECH yet, put it on your radar—you won’t regret it. #AFROTECH2024 #GenerativeAI #LearningAndDevelopment #AITraining #FutureOfWork #TechInnovation #ProfessionalGrowth #AIForGood #ResponsibleAI #WorkforceDevelopment #InclusiveTech #BlackExcellence #TechCommunity #SkillBuilding #EquityInTech

Today and yesterday, I had the opportunity to engage with participants at the AI Infra Summit, discussing innovation and the potential of technology. As a Trans woman in civic tech, I am passionate about breaking into spaces traditionally dominated by men. Despite the challenges, I always leave these events feeling fulfilled. The conversations are enriching, minds are curious, and I believe I am making an impact by showcasing the positive side of tech. There is still a long journey ahead, but I am committed to sparking discussions and creating pathways for others with similar stories to navigate the tech industry more smoothly. #AI #TechInnovation #DiversityInTech #CivicTech

It was great to be part of such a thought-provoking panel discussion on Friday at #machinecon2024. Thank you to Elizabeth Shaw for facilitating such an engaging conversation and to my fellow panelists for their insightful contributions. While we celebrate advancements in AI, it's crucial to acknowledge the stark reality: women hold only 28% of tech jobs globally, a number that plummets when considering leadership positions. This underrepresentation directly impacts the algorithms shaping our world, risking the amplification of existing biases. Diversity isn't solely about gender. It's a rich tapestry woven from threads of multiple cultures, perspectives, and experiences. AI developed within an echo chamber risks amplifying existing biases. To truly harness AI's potential, we need a workforce that mirrors the world it serves. A mosaic of minds will create AI systems that are not just intelligent, but equitable and inclusive. It's time to rewrite the script before it's too late. Let's champion diversity at every level of AI development, from the boardroom to the codebase. Together, we can build an AI future that benefits us all. #MachineCon2024 #AI #diversityandinclusion #bias #AIethics #womenintech AIM Research

Today we've given our #AI an identity and have started to give it a bit more freedom to express itself. #AnyaHansen™ by #H20 will enrich H20 with insightful content, drawing inspiration from the content you publish. The more interaction there is between #Hubbers, the higher the quality of the contributions that #AnyaHansen can make to each of you. This applies to both, contents and #Matchmaking. The more you offer to the H20 ecosystem, the more value you'll receive in return! For instance, based on the content you will share and the quality of your interactions, Anya will suggest which #EarlyBirds registered #Founders in H20 will gain access to the investor batches program scheduled. We like to think that in an ecosystem, there's an organism that takes care of all the inhabitants. #H20VentureBuildingEcosystem Well, that organism in H20 is #Anya.

The more I listen to the conversations around AI and the #futureofwork from folks like Rimma Boshernitsan the more hopeful I am for the future. The unknown is frightening, but the more we invest in what makes us human we will be able to grow together with technology.

'How do we get the next ten years right?' An important question given the speed with which tech is being developed and deployed to the masses. This was also the theme of last week's CogX AI Festival in LA which fortunately coincided with the annual Milken Institute conference. Excited to have been an ambassador to this inaugural gathering of leaders working at the intersection of AI, technology, society, media and culture. As a moderator and curator of people and ideas, and someone who thinks in and for the 'long-term', I found like-minded people, genuinely excited to learn from one another and collaborate. The confluence of voices made for rich dialogue and for many serendipitous encounters. And how often can you say you met an astronaut and and entrepreneur working on de-extinction both in the same day? Great job Charlie Muirhead and team. And special thanks to Mike Butcher for connecting Charlie and I back in 2017 when DIALOGUE first started curating think tanks to discuss the meaning of #AI in the #futureofwork. Looking forward to the next one. #CogX2024 #FutureTech
