Saks Serves, our employee volunteer program, recently held a Back-to-School drive to support local nonprofits and the children they serve. Between our India corporate office, Tennessee Fulfillment Center, Pottsville Photo Studio, New York corporate office and U.S.-based remote employees, Saks Serves donated nearly 5,000 school supplies to students across our local communities as they head back to school. Through this initiative, we worked with impactful partners including Christel House India, Rutherford County’s Boys & Girls Club, Schuylkill United Way and Henry Street Settlement, to reach underserved communities. #Saks #SaksServes #CommunityImpact

What if one compelling story could unlock the generosity your church needs? Black churches have long been pillars of strength, community, and resilience, especially during social and economic hardship. They have been a haven for worship, a support system for the marginalized, and a platform for social justice. However, like many nonprofits, Black churches often face the challenge of securing sufficient funds to support their programs and initiatives. A powerful tool in this effort is the Case for Support—a compelling narrative that conveys a church’s mission, vision and needs in a way that inspires donors to give generously. We asked how the chamber of commerce can help businesses grow. Here is what Chat GPT said: 1. Community Engagement: - Organizing community events and activities that drive traffic to local businesses. - Encouraging member businesses to participate in community service and charitable initiatives. 2. Access to Funding and Grants: - Providing information on available grants, loans, and other funding opportunities. - Offering guidance on the application process for financial assistance programs. 3. Recognition and Awards: - Hosting award programs that recognize and celebrate the achievements of local businesses. - Providing opportunities for businesses to gain publicity through Chamber-sponsored events and initiatives. By leveraging these services, businesses can expand their networks, enhance their visibility, and gain the knowledge and resources they need to grow and thrive.

❓Did you know that volunteers play a lead role in determining how dollars donated to United Way are invested in the community? ✏️ This year, nearly 80 volunteers reviewed proposals aiming to support our Bold Goal focused on Strengthening Families. How it works: Every year, local non-profits apply for grants from United Way to support their programs. With the help of volunteers on our Community Impact Review Panel, these applications are thoughtfully evaluated based on United Way’s strategy and on the impact each can have on our neighbors in poverty. Want to learn more about being on the Community Impact Review Panel or other great volunteer opportunities? Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/g8rZN7UT

In the UK, over 50% of consumers don't understand what it means when a business is a co-operative or a mutual, and two-fifths (42%) admit they don't know how being part of one could benefit them and their communities. Co-op's new brand platform, "Owned by You, Right by You," aims to change that. At Rullion, we're excited to support this bold new initiative. By encouraging our staff to become Co-op members, we're not just promoting a fantastic business; we're fostering a sense of ownership and community spirit. For every staff member who joins, we will donate £1 to Altrincham FC Community Sports Ltd, reinforcing our commitment to local community support. Why are we doing this? Embracing Co-op's Vision: Supporting the new brand platform that emphasizes member ownership and community involvement. Building Community Spirit: Helping Co-op bring people together to create a stronger, more connected community. Enhancing Local Impact: Through our donations, we support Altrincham FC Community Sports Ltd, which aids people of all ages with programs addressing dementia, isolation, and physical activity. We invite local businesses to participate in this initiative by donating coats or encouraging your employees to contribute. Together, we can foster a spirit of generosity and warmth in our community! How Businesses Can Help: 1️⃣ Donate Coats: Consider a company-wide collection or individual contributions. 2️⃣ Promote the Drive: Share this initiative with your networks to amplify our impact. 3️⃣ Engage Employees: Encourage team participation and volunteer opportunities to help sort and distribute donations. Donations accepted any time between now and December 1st. Let’s come together as a business community to keep our neighbors warm this winter.
