History and Mythology genres have outshined several others in the premium factual docs category to be one of the hottest and fastest growing storytelling genres in South Asia across mediums. Had a great conversation with Sweta Kaushal on this and much more.
The youth wants to know it from the beginning. They want to reconnect to their past so that at present they understand the value system we have and prepare for the future. We are making Shri Ram Janambhoomi 500 Years of Struggle story. Lot to tell. Have been working on this for the past few years. The more and more shows will come. The more and more heroes will rise. India has lots to offer. The need of the day is authentic research with great production value and that we are working on.
Fantastic stuff, Sai. I explore these themes in my upcoming book - ‘Why We Travel’.

Sai Abishek P R It's high time we rediscovered our epics from a modern perspective!
Great initiative Abhishek, especially Indian history has been a oral transmission of knowledge than written. We too will have more to say.
I loved watching Relics of Buddha.

10moIMO all a phase. Whatever the genre, the story and production design have to be absolutely first class - meaning the quality delivered on to the screen (laptop or theatre) should be so dazzling real (or unreal) that the viewer should say, wow, never seen anything like this, let me finish watching these five or ten episodes or two hours twenty minutes without a break. (Watch Kaarum, Sweet, Coffee) That should be the core concern. There were some films in Kannada that tried to do something like Kantara. Fared poorly at the box office.
