13 harsh truths about success nobody told you: (everyone should read this) 1. You will have to endure long seasons of loneliness. Periods of loneliness are a natural byproduct of transformation. The season of loneliness is natural, a sign you're on the right path. 2. Your anxiety will scale proportionally to your ambition. Ambition can be channeled to create incredible outcomes—but it also creates incredible anxiety when those outcomes are falling short of rising expectations. 3. To shine in the light you have to embrace boredom in the dark. Success is built on the back of long, painful periods of extremely disciplined, boring routines. This is the cost of entry. 4. The climb is always better than the view from the summit. Real happiness is found in the anticipation of the achievement, not the achievement itself. It’s the quest. It’s the hunt. The happiness is not in the having, but in the becoming. 5. You have to pay your rent daily. Every morning in the savannah, the gazelle wakes up and knows it must outrun the lion or be killed. The lion wakes up and knows it must outrun the gazelle or starve. Whether you're the gazelle or the lion, when you wake up in the morning, you'd better start running. 6. Adaptability will always beat planning. Adaptability is the single most important trait for success in life. You need to trust in your ability to adapt. 7. Your imposter syndrome and self-doubt never go away. The CEOs and founders of some of the biggest companies in the world still experience that same sensation. They feel it. They just act anyway. 8. It will always take longer than you expect. Hofstadter's Law: It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter's Law. 9. The good and the bad get amplified. The highs get higher but the lows get lower. Every day, new issues arise, new monsters. The failures become more public. The critics get louder. 10. The money only solves money problems. If you blindly chase the money, thinking it will solve all of your problems, you will be destined for a rich-yet-miserable existence. 11. There's no such thing as later. Most of the things you say you'll do later won't be possible by the time you're able to do them. Your kids won't be young later. Your health won't be there later. Either start designing it into your life now, or live life with regret later. 12. You never really figure it out. No one knows what they're doing. Everyone is just stumbling along. Some are just willing to stumble enough that they find their way into something special. 13. You'll never feel successful unless you create your own definition of success. If you define success through comparison to others, you will never feel successful. To feel successful, you must create your own definition of success. Success isn’t just about achievements—it's a complex journey marked by resilience, adaptability, and self-defined purpose. Embrace the solitude, endure the struggle, and define success on your terms. The truth? It’s not about ‘arriving’; it’s about growing and becoming. 🌱 'The climb is always better than the summit

The real work happens behind the scenes! I've seen that many of us tend to give up when things get challenging. That's what sets successful people apart. They don't just face adversity, they embrace it and push through. Here are some things that high performers do differently than most people. https://thegentleforce.me/p/what-top-performers-do-differently

Each point here resonates deeply—growth requires facing loneliness, navigating self-doubt, and embracing the grind in silence. Success is a journey, not a destination; every lesson here is a powerful reminder to keep pushing forward. 🌱

Hard truth that will set you free. I can absolutely resonate with number four after 15 years of climbing mountains on my road bike. I've always enjoyed the climb more then the summit because that's where we experience the most growth. And that's also why we always come crawling back for more mountains to climb. The climb is addicting. The loneliness of entrepreneurship is so real however once we learn to be truly alone, you rise in your power. 👑 Anxiety and excitement comes from the same neurochemicals. Simply reframe it and use your anxiety as fuel to drive you forward. Imposter syndrome simply means you're outside your comfort zone where you should be anyways. Let's stop thinking it's a bad thing. ;)

Great post—these are truths everyone should keep in mind. I’d add a few more that round out the picture: 14. Don’t believe everything you see on social media; most of it is one-sided or curated. The success you see online is often just the highlight reel. Real growth happens behind the scenes, in moments rarely shared publicly. 15. For each success story we hear, there are countless untold stories of struggle and failure. Seek out and learn from the journeys that don’t get celebrated. The most valuable lessons are often hidden in the paths not shared. 16. Success doesn’t mean constant happiness. Achieving your goals won’t automatically bring fulfillment. True happiness is found in balancing achievement with meaningful relationships, self-care, and continuous personal growth. Once again thank you for sharing these much needed pointers.
