3 Qualities I admire in founders, people I work with or invest in: - Humility - Self-Awareness - Value for Money/Frugality At a recent event, I met a founder who pitched his product with confidence but left me reflecting on what not to do: 1️⃣ He claimed to be "the only one of its kind." When I dug deeper, I found several similar products. Overstating uniqueness without proper research can erode credibility. 2️⃣ He said he had "No competition." Everyone has competition. Saying otherwise shows either a lack of research or awareness—both red flags. Knowing your competition means understanding your market. 3️⃣ He bragged about burning money. He proudly shared plans to "burn money like no one ever had." This is a huge turn-off. Founders are custodians of investor funds, and respect for that money is critical. Founders need confidence and belief—it's tough to survive without them. But there's a fine line where confidence tips into arrogance, and belief feels like BS.
