In the closing keynote, David Kelly shares that we can achieve more level 1 uses of doing what we do today in “training” with AI. However David Kelly alludes to more level 2 uses of AI in our daily actions to achieve perfomance goals and learning … that’s the real game changer
CEO & Chief Learning Strategist | Transforming Learning & Development Solutions for Lasting Impact | Focused on Growth & Excellence | Avid Runner | P&G & PepsiCo Alum
At #devlearn, It’s not about using tech to “do what we do now” but about how we can use tech to achieve new goals. We need to look behind the facade of the offerings … Ask what problems does the technology solve that we can’t do today says David Kelly

The democratization of software development is a major win of the current genAI wave. It’s a true unlock for millions of builders around the globe. This will get us in an era of abundant / cheap software that solves more problems we didn’t had the bandwidth to solve. Ultimately, this transformation will flow from the world of bits into the world of atoms.

Many years ago the promise of Docker and containerization was to foment the new age of fast lightweight apps you could run and tear down in the order of 100s of millis. Fast forward to now, I'm seeing Docker containers in the order of several GBs of memory footprint and slower startup times. Engineering is getting lazier because of the hardware and to a certain extent the OS's capabilities to host increasingly massive workloads. What I fear is that the innovation aspect from Engineers is going out the window. In a few years, mmaped IO won't even be a thing people talk about because everything is in memory. Bye bye LSM Trees. Give me back my 640k of RAM so I can do some Engineering. 😢 #rant.

At DevCon 2024’s Proof Summit, Sylve Chevet took part in a panel about the future of accelerated proving systems alongside Jens Groth at Nexus and François Garillot at Argument, moderated by Lagrange Labs’s Ismael Hishon-Rezaizadeh. Here are Sylve's highlights. 📖 ZK innovation today feels like the steam engine era. The first engines pumped water out of coal mines before revolutionizing industries. ZK began by improving blockchains and now opens doors to privacy, provable apps, and trust infrastructure. At Hylé, we embrace all proving systems, like: • Noir for privacy and client-side proving. • zkVMs (like Nexus) for versatility. • Circom, SP1, Risc0… We're the Switzerland of proving systems. 🇨🇭 ✈️ Hardware acceleration is a game-changer. • Public, large-scale apps benefit from accelerated proving. • Apps requiring client-side proving may benefit less until we ship proper hardware to smartphones What sets Hylé apart from traditional zkL1s? 1️⃣ No vendor lock-in — choose your favorite zkDSL or zkVM. 2️⃣ Proof composition > recursion. 3️⃣ Sequencing separated from settlement for smoother pipelines. Proof composition empowers zkApp developers: • Compose proofs atomically, without dependencies. • Build apps without worrying about zk mechanics. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/et-kqWAf 🔗 Pipelined proving eliminates delays. Hylé processes transactions efficiently, ensuring apps scale without sacrificing decentralization. Read about it: https://lnkd.in/ejXyp7Nb 🛠️ Our vision? Remove the ZK hassle from zkApps. Focus on building scalable, private, and flexible apps without complexity. Let ZK work behind the scenes so developers can innovate freely.
