How to get the home you will love: know your own mind. Architects and interior designers are a key part of your project team: they are the ones that will take you ideas and concepts and turn them into coherent, buildable, lovable environments. However, for all their insight, flair, style and skill, they are still human, and can only excel when they have a sense of the goal. As a client, you are not expected to have all the answers, or know all the products, but the more you can articulate your vision, how you like to live, the aesthetics, textures and sounds that you love - and for all of these, those things that you dislike as well (!) - the more your design team have to work with. Briefing your team is the key point of engagement, and if you can bring examples, concepts and goals to the sessions, you are that bit closer to getting something you will truly love.
