This isn't an easy question to ask when you need help, and the answer isn't easy either. Multiple Todoist task reminders, that prompt you to do the thing (saving time later on when you scramble to do the thing on a much tighter deadline). Or ClickUp, auto-applying a template full of subtasks when the parent task status changes (so you know all the next steps without having to try and work them out each time)! These two examples can save you hours, both in the time it takes to do the tasks, but also in the mental space that it takes to remember all the moving parts. Automations can be in traditional automation software such as Zapier, Make and Pipedream, but they can also be internal to apps like ClickUp and Airtable (who both have great automations!). In a world of compliant sheep, it is imperative to challenge the rules. Most won't, but you can. Rule breaking is a fundamental skill in landing creative solutions that cut through the clutter. I say 'skill' cause you can totally learn it - with a bit of practice. Start here: - Think about a problem you want to solve. - List a handful of hard & fast rules around that problem. - Pick one of them and break that rule in a few ways. - Use that as inspiration for your solution. Example, Uber = ride sharing ➡ Rule: we need cars. ➡ Break it: what if we didn't need cars at all? ➡ How would that work? Give it a go and see where it takes you. This is along the same lines as automating repetitive shit - if you have to do something over and over again - template it! I don't care if it's in Notion, ClickUp, Todoist, Apple Notes, Toggl - if the application has a template feature - use it!
