Politics and Politicians globally tend to be similar, largely due to the pressure to retain power and secure victory in subsequent elections. At best you can choose to vote out someone in the next election. But I guess the change may not be substantially different, because every politician has to align to the same incentives of holding on to power. Hence, their advice should not be taken too seriously. Regarding the trend of individuals pursuing higher education or professional opportunities abroad, it's a phenomenon driven by economic incentives, the ease of information exchange, and the freedom to travel anywhere in the world, provided there is a perceived mutual benefit for both parties involved. The focus, instead, should be on creating more value for the country's young talent, offering them opportunities to contribute and progress economically, on par with what they believe they could achieve by relocating to another country.

Leading organisations such as AOL are willing to help educational institutions with implementing Mental health and wellness in schools. Yet the CBSE will not allow them to implement it through their mandates and academic subjects focused exams. When we don’t measure the social, emotional and mental health like the academic subjects we are driving home a point that these are peripheral learning and gold plating. If teachers are in such a pressure to complete syllabus it’s an indication that all is not well. When cbse is questioned they take the route of implementation limitations, but in this debate the true losers are children whom we lose every year by suicides in great numbers and long term damage to their relationship and self esteem Mental health professionals will keep campaigning for better mental and emotional hygiene and accountability of the boards with little or no impact on the necessitous groups. We continue to see these photo ops to ensure that the media coverage is taken. Parents ought to prioritise their ward’s wellbeing

India has made remarkable strides in scaling-up access to higher education - vital for a healthy democracy and crucial for India's continued economic success - thanks to the exceptionally bold and ambitious National Education Policy 2020 from Narendra Modi. And India's universities are seeing more success in global rankings - demonstrating their powerful social and economic impact by taking top positions in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings and showing more promise in the THE World University Rankings, with dramatically increased participation in the gold standard global performance benchmarking system. In a widely syndicated interview with a media agency in India last week (video clip below), I explored India's next steps to fully realising the nation's potential as a higher education superpower - that is internationalisation. Work is already underway to internationalise the Indian system, and breaking down the barriers to international collaboration, helping to drive up quality... attracting international talent and retaining talent in India will provide a virtuous circle for future success. Incredibly proud moment for India as it leads the 2024 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, shining in sustainable development goals, especially energy-related research! In the QS Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings 2025 IIT Delhi made a remarkable leap, climbing 47 spots to secure the 150th position globally. Meanwhile, my Alma Mater, Delhi University soared 79 ranks to reach 328th! The secret? It is not only the establishment of the National Research Foundation or revamping the higher education policy #NEP2020, but significantly boosting the funding, almost tripling it (albeit for Delhi institutions only) that is behind this academic success. #ProudIndian #HigherEducation #SustainableDevelopment #AcademicExcellence #NEP2020
