Register now for our upcoming webinar: Understanding psychosocial safety in the arts and culture sector 👉 https://lnkd.in/gfEjuuvK Everyone has WHS responsibilities in the workplace. If you’re the boss, you have extra responsibilities to ensure the psychological health and safety of your workers and other people in the workplace, and to manage psychosocial hazards. This can sometimes feel hard in creative workplaces, where people often cooperate to design and deliver work in atypical ways. But focusing on psychological safety is just as vital in the arts and culture sector as it is everywhere else. Join SafeWork SA’s Chief Advisor Psychosocial Jason Mavrikis who will explain the laws. Together with Creative Workplaces Council Member Tina Lavranos, they’ll bust some myths about managing psychosocial hazards while still making brilliant art. (And remember: WHS laws are the same in almost all states and territories, so this webinar will be valuable for everyone.)

Today marks international workers Memorial Day and international Health and safety day. Last year saw 43 people loose there life’s in work place fatalities that’s 43 family’s not having their Son/Daughter their Brother/Sister Their Husband/Wife Their Partner Their Dad/Mam coming home. Give the next two minutes and put yourself into their family’s shoes think what if that was my family member. Think is it really worth cutting corners to save a few minutes think of them 43 people that are no longer here. We as health and safety practitioners think about these people all the time. We as health and safety professionals think about every one of our Employees and their family’s. We as health and safety professionals can only do so much we need the buy in of all of YOU to help bring that number from 43 people down to Zero and we as a group from MD down to the hands on ground workers can play our part in making the workplace a safer place. Always remember to talk to your H&S department if you have an idea if you have a concern if you have a thought that something could be done different reach out to your H&S we may look cranky but we listen and take on board every thought, idea and concern that comes to us and remember we are here for you the employee to make sure you go home from work as safe as you came into work.

As we face record-breaking hot temperatures in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia, it's crucial to take extra precautions to stay safe and healthy. Here are a few tips to beat the heat: 🔥 Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water. 🌡️ Take breaks: Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas. 🧢 Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing to help keep you cool.
