International Women's Day 2024 is today, and it is important we look back at the past years and celebrate the incredible accomplishments of women worldwide. From breaking barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields to shattering long-standing stereotypes, women have made considerable strides in the fight for equality. In honour of International Women's Day 2024, let's look at some fantastic achievements women have accomplished over the last few years. In 2020, voters elected a record number of women to public office in the United States. This result was a massive win for gender equality, as it shows that more and more people are recognizing the importance of having women in positions of power. Women have also succeeded in other areas, such as the tech industry. Despite historically low representation, women have made significant gains in the field, and the number of female-led startups is rising. These numbers are a testament to women's hard work and dedication in the tech industry, and it is a promising sign for the future. In addition, women have made great strides in the fight against climate change. Throughout the world, female activists have been leading the charge for sustainability, and their efforts have been invaluable in spreading awareness about the need for environmental protection. Finally, International Women's Day 2024 should be a time to celebrate women's progress in the fight for equal rights. Despite numerous obstacles, women have continued to push for change, and their efforts have started to pay off through more equitable laws and policies. We may have a long way to go, but the future is bright for women worldwide. Today is International Women’s Day and this year’s theme is 'Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress', and I feel this resonates with me and my career progression over the last 18 months or so. I am extremely happy to share that since starting my employment with them, JensonR+ Limited have invested in me to support not only my career goals, but my personal growth too. Since joining JensonR+ as Quality Officer in August 2022 they have supported my aspirations to become a Responsible Person, by both financial means in terms funding of external training and the incredible support and guidance from my colleagues. Earlier this year I was delighted to be promoted to a Responsible Person, and all of the effort and investment put into my development , both by myself and JensonR+ came into fruition. For me, this is an incredible achievement and I will continue to seek out opportunities for improvement, with the support of my employer. Each year on 8th March the world marks International Women’s Day (IWD), to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.  On February 28, 1909, the United Nations observed the first National Women's Day, followed by a declaration by the Socialist Party of America. The day has great significance for gender equality and women's rights. The fact that Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 is linked to the women’s movement during the Russian Revolution (1917).
