Last week, I had the privilege of attending an event organized by the UT Dallas Executive MBA Program, which delved into advanced insights on the practical business applications of generative AI. The session offered forward-thinking perspectives on how this technology is reshaping industry practices and driving innovation. Some of my key takeaways: Generative AI is transforming business by automating tasks like writing, coding, and data analysis, enhancing efficiency and innovation. Organizations adapt by developing new skills to collaborate with AI and rethinking creative and strategic processes. Human critical thinking remains essential for ethical oversight, complex problem-solving, and innovation. Successful integration of AI requires balancing automation with fostering human creativity and decision-making for a competitive edge. A heartfelt thanks to speakers Helmuth Ludwig and Satish Madhira for their invaluable insights and to DFW MBA Alumni Association for their outstanding efforts in organizing such a thought-provoking event. The session provided deep reflections on the future of AI, leaving us inspired and equipped to face the evolving challenges and opportunities ahead.

Indeed, delighted and honored to have shared my firsthand views and experiences with healthcare executives and practitioners on the best practices of promoting the latest-generation intelligent systems known as #GenAI #LLMs. Some key takeaways are: - Iterative refinement of prompts could lead to more relevant and useful AI responses - PE (prompt engineering) involves crafting precise and effective prompts to elicit the best possible responses from LLMs - Other tips for effective PE: (1) be specific in your prompts to guide the AI towards more precise outputs; (2) clearly state the intent behind the prompt to avoid ambiguous responses; (3) direct the output format to ensure the AI-generated content meets the desired requirements. #PromptEngineering #analytics #UHBauer

Driving innovation in healthcare, in Houston & beyond 🩺 Emerging AI technologies have the potential to transform the healthcare industry, according to #UHBauer Associate Professor Xiao Ma, who recently gave a presentation on the topic at Texas Children's Hospital as part of their "Talks That Transform" series. Ma, who is faculty director of the #UHBauer MS in Business Analytics, shared insight on the nuances of generative AI (technology that can generate text, images & other data using generative models, often in response to prompts) and its applications in healthcare. #BauerAlumni Ginny D., who graduated from the MS BZAN program in 2022 and is now a data scientist at Texas Children's Hospital, also presented, sharing her practical experience on these AI technologies and how they address real world challenges from patient data analysis to predictive healthcare outcomes.
