I'm often asked about companies in the #cannabisindustry that are actually putting out solid #ESG reports. Newsflash - there aren't many and that number has shrunk in recent years as companies have jettisoned CSR/ESG staff, budgets for this kind of work have been slashed, and many executives view this type of measurement, benchmarking, and reporting to be "nice to haves." The fact is that undertaking this exercise has a number of real business benefits - it can help one identify inefficiencies, set goals for filling gaps in production, personnel, and supply chains, attract and retain talent, as well as a whole host of marketing benefits by being a purpose-driven company. Is this report perfect? Of course not! But to be honest, it's better than what any other cannabis (plant-touching) company is putting out right now. And that should be both commended and celebrated.
