Mark Cuban’s 12 Rules for Startups 🦈 Want to 10x your startup’s success? Follow these principles from Mark Cuban’s playbook: 1️⃣ Obsession > Strategy Don’t start unless you’re obsessed. Love it or leave it. 2️⃣ No Exit? Good. If you’re planning your escape, you’re not all in. 3️⃣ Hire for Passion Find people who’ll love working there as much as you do. 4️⃣ Sales Solve Everything Cash flow is king. Keep selling. 5️⃣ Know Your Superpower Focus on your core strengths. Be great at them. 6️⃣ Lunch = Opportunity Get out of the office. Talk. Connect. 7️⃣ Open Floor, Open Communication No offices. Transparency drives collaboration. 8️⃣ Stick to Tech You Know Avoid shiny objects. Master your tools. 9️⃣ Flatten the Org Hierarchies slow innovation. Stay flat, stay agile. 🔟 Skip the Swag T-shirts won’t build your product. Focus on what matters. 1️⃣1️⃣ Be Your Own PR No firm needed—you tell your story best. 1️⃣2️⃣ Make It Fun Happy employees = productive employees. “These are my favorites because they reflect the heart of being a founder. 1. Obsession > Strategy resonates deeply because passion is the fuel that drives everything forward, especially when the road gets tough. 2. Know Your Superpower is critical because focusing on what you excel at is how you create value and stand out in a competitive market. When you’re fully invested and leveraging your strengths, success becomes inevitable.”

#1 & #4 are my favorite. - Obsessions will always beat a nice strategy. That's probably why investors care a lot about the team slide in a deck. - Sales truly solves everything, way more important than valuation numbers, it's all about growth.

I would sort them with #5 and #12 higher up. We all have strengths and weaknesses. Work hard to expand the former one and reduce the later. Happy stateholders are more committed to the mission. Thanks for sharing
