If you work with refugee and asylum-seeking communities, seize this chance to elevate your skills and make a profound positive impact. Brutal extremism often preys on individuals who feel isolated, marginalized, and hopeless. For refugees and asylum seekers, these vulnerabilities are intensified by trauma, displacement, and uncertainty about their futures. Such conditions can become fertile grounds for extremist narratives that promise a distorted sense of purpose and belonging. The #IN2PREV project is designed to enhance collaboration between law enforcement, community organizations, and training methods to prevent radicalization by ensuring effective integration of refugees. We are thrilled to announce three innovative training courses aimed at empowering law enforcement and NGOs in this vital field: 🔹 Preventing and Identifying Vulnerability Factors Course - Equip yourself with the tools to prevent radicalization and identify vulnerabilities within refugee communities. 🔹 Facilitating Integration through Mentoring Course - Learn how to support successful integration through mentorship programs. 🔹 Train the Trainer Course - Become a certified trainer and contribute to the sustainability of the IN2PREV project. These courses are open to practitioners from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, and Spain. SOME CRITICAL QUESTIONS REGARDING EDUCATION IN DISPLACEMENT SITUATIONSanS To what extent do our National Education Sector Development plans address the education needs of refugees, returnees and IDPs? Also how much do we capture refugee, returnee and other displacement-affected learners into our NEMIS/EMIS and respond to their ongoing as well emerging education needs? What policy changes are needed to cater for their needs? Enjoy your weekend.

This bitesize session was really insightful and certainly made me reflect more on what more I can do to support others 🤝. Listening to the lived experiences and key statistics it’s clear that so much more needs to be done to support our refugee community and reduce some of the key challenges which the majority have to try and overcome when they arrive in 🇬🇧 Key challenges include: 🤨 Uncertainty of immigration status and ambiguity of temporary protections contribute to stress and instability. 📚 Barriers in education including lack of recognition of prior qualifications and language barriers hinder educational advancement. 💻 Difficulty in obtaining sustainable work due to legal restrictions or limited language proficiency. 😐 Cultural differences and language barriers can lead to misunderstandings and tensions in schools and the workplace.
