Last month, RSP's Chairman, Kiat Lim, officially launched the Kiat Lim-Shaping Hearts Award (KLSHA), a transformative scholarship and bursary programme designed to support children and youth with disabilities in pursuing their passion for art. With a personal commitment of $1 million over the next five years, Kiat’s contribution marks the largest individual donation to the award. This funding will enable KLSHA to provide 10 scholarships and 100 bursaries annually, benefiting up to 110 recipients each year. “Art is a form of alternative expression. Some are unable to communicate as well, or be as expressive physically, so I think art is something that can allow them to express themselves in an alternative form,” shared Kiat in The Straits Times article. The award’s launch took place at Our Tampines Hub, hosted by the North East Community Development Council (CDC). Kiat was joined by Mayor Desmond Choo and Dr. Deibby Mamahit, an Autism and Brain Health Consultant, for this meaningful event.
