🌊♻️ Giving ocean wasteful a second life with AB InBev ♻️🌊 Every year, vast amounts of plastic fishing gear end up in our oceans, posing significant risks to marine life. What if we could transform this waste into something valuable? As a leader in returnable plastic packaging, we’re dedicated to making a positive impact, and this initiative reflects our commitment. In partnership with AB InBev, we’ve developed a Corona Extra beer crate crafted from over 91% recycled materials, including discarded fishing nets and ropes. Featuring a distinctive “riptide” marbled design that imitates nature’s uniqueness, this crate is more than just packaging; it represents a significant step toward a circular economy and highlights our dedication to sustainable innovation. ✨ Watch the video to discover how we're transforming ocean waste and creating a brighter, more sustainable future! 🌎🌊 #SustainablePackaging #OceanConservation #CircularEconomy #RecyclingInnovation #SustainableFuture #EcoInnovation #ABInBevPartnership

The EU needs to address the disparities in #packaging and packaging waste legislation. Packaging, whether it’s glass bottles, aluminium cans, or kegs, is indispensable for storing, transporting and enjoying beer. That’s why brewers have innovated and invested over many years to make our packaging ever more circular and sustainable, ensuring our sector has a positive impact on the planet. We take our responsibility seriously to minimise the environmental impact of beer packaging throughout the lifecycle by reducing, reusing and recycling. With more than half of the beer in the EU sold in reusable packaging, brewers have pioneered the setting up of reusable packaging collection systems for kegs and glass. In other countries, brewers have supported the establishment of world-leading recycling collections systems for cans and other glass bottles. This transition requires both investment and time. That is why we call for a policy framework that fosters a fair approach by recognising brewers’ leadership, supporting best practices already in place and ensuring that all competing sectors step up in cutting waste. Hi 👋 Let’s have a conversation about our partnership with recycling affiliates to improve recovery rates, a crucial aspect of our sector's commitment to environmental responsibility. For more than two decades, Canadian beverage companies and provincial and territorial beverage container recovery organizations have been collaborating to enhance the collection and recycling of beverage containers. This joint effort has not only led to a significant rise in the recovery rate of all beverage containers but also educated consumers, businesses, and governments about the importance of recycling these containers. Although the #EU has taken steps to help make the #packaging industry more circular, it still needs to ensure the economy is adequately supported during the transition. Over the years, #brewers have invested heavily to reduce, reuse and recycle, cutting the environmental impact of #beer packaging throughout the lifecycle. As a testament to these efforts, more than half of all beer in the EU is sold in reusable packaging. The other half is in recyclable and recycled packaging. However, the transition to more circular packaging requires both investment and time. That is why we need a policy framework that is fair. It needs to recognise the leadership of brewers, support best practices already in place and ensure that all drinks sectors make efforts to cut waste. #BeerFuture #EUElections2024 Read our Manifesto to find out more ➡ https://loom.ly/Mu0R0pk

I'm continually impressed by the strategic approach Oregon and OBRC have taken over the years in implementing an effective Deposit Return System (DRS). Our model not only demonstrates environmental stewardship but also highlights the business smarts in creating an efficient, cost-effective recycling system. Our program, thanks to the industry-led, vertically integrated structure, showcases one of the lowest operational costs per container globally, paired with un-rivaled consumer access. It will be interesting to watch as California introduces its wine bottle redemption initiative and explores recycling solutions; there's a clear opportunity for businesses to learn and adapt. Our success in Oregon serves as a benchmark for the industry, underscoring the importance of efficiency, integration, and mandatory participation in creating a scalable and profitable recycling ecosystem. Other should learn and champion strategies that not only enhance recycling infrastructure but also align with our core business objectives, paving the way for sustainable growth and innovation. #BusinessInnovation #SustainableGrowth #RecyclingSolutions #IndustryLeadership

Container deposit schemes (#CDS) will soon be operating in every Australian State and Territory. These schemes have attracted industry and community participation and substantially reduced beverage container litter. The schemes increase access to quality recovered material, which leads to highest-value material #reuse, such as bottle-to-bottle #recycling. For example, the hot-wash PET flake generated from CDS products delivers high-quality PET for the Australian packaging market. The schemes also deliver uncontaminated glass for high-value recycling. It is essential that CDS supports meaningful progress towards Australia’s National Packaging Targets, by ensuring that #recycledcontent is prioritised in beverage containers and that beverage containers are genuinely #reusable and #recyclable.
