Existing in today's financial world can make it hard to feel optimistic about our future, and Florida is no exception. However, according to The Eshenbaugh report, courtesy of Eshenbaugh Land Company, there is still a light in the dark. Adding 240,500 jobs in April alone, the Florida economy saw an increase of 2.5% YOY (year over year.) In 2024 CEO Magazine, Florida was ranked number 2 among the best states to do business. According to the Florida Scorecard, our diversity stands as a strength, as the state ranks first for black-owned businesses with employees and second for Hispanic-owned and women-owned businesses with employees. These indicators demonstrate not only the strength of Florida's economic scene, but also the diverse spirit that provides a solid foundation for growth and optimism as we navigate the financial climate.

In October 2024, the West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office reported that 1,100 new businesses were registered across the state. Calhoun County emerged as the leader in growth percentage, achieving a 2.70% increase with the addition of seven new businesses. Other notable counties with strong growth included Wayne (1.90%), Pocahontas (1.87%), Clay (1.82%), and Jackson (1.80%).
