Yes it is Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Red Dress Day. Yes is is important to remember those who are missing! More importantly, how do we prevent Metis and First Nations Women and Girls from being abused, beaten, sexually assaulted, living in poverty, and going missing? 56% of Indigenous women have suffered physical assault, and 46% have experienced sexual assault. By comparison, about one-third of non-Indigenous women have suffered these assaults in their lifetimes. https://lnkd.in/gnHpK2Gt.

#WOMEN #NOW #DEMOCRACY #WOMENSRIGHTS #HUMAN TRAFFICKING #DOMESTIC ABUSE I know that there is no way that women across America from ALL walks of life, regardless of political party affiliation will not stand by and let their "hard earned" rights be taken away from them. There is no doubt in my mind that WE are prepared to stand-up and fight for our rights. If you agree, here is a link to a conference which begins today and ends tomorrow. The title of my session is: How Human Trafficking Prohibits Women from Participating in the Promise of Freedom and Democracy and What Women Can Do About it. There are two days’ worth of pertinent topics happening of which you need the information. The conference fee is $65 or whatever you can afford to pay. Please share the link.

🆕 Status of Young Women in Scotland Survey! Across Scotland, young women and girls are struggling to have their basic human rights realised due to poor access to healthcare, precarious employment, the prevalence and persistence of gender-based violence, and the ongoing climate crisis. The Young Women's Movement flagship Status of Young Women in Scotland research for 2024-25 will focus on how young women understand, access and advocate for their human rights in Scotland. This is such a timely and important topic given the rising threats we're witnessing to young women's rights globally. Please share with young women you know, work and live with and encourage them to share their voices & experiences to help us influence change. We must continue to work towards a Scotland where young women's rights are progressed and upheld, insights from this research will enable The Young Women's Movement and others to continue advancing this work.
