Kick-off done ... time to start working with Sen Wang and Lourenco Tercio Lima Pereira! The #urbanairmobility #opensourceUAMframework for #DICUAM2026 is starting the subdivision of our collaborative Team into 3 groups (check the info at: https://lnkd.in/e_yAxRkH)! Target is to have ready an open-source UAM framework including: a full-scale vehicle design, its control capabilities and flight envelope, and the needed vertiport environment for vertical take-off and landing. The full-scale model will also be scaled down to a demonstrator, which we will eventually manufacture and provide free to test. Did you miss the event? On this third day of Innovation fair at International Civil Aviation Organization, Yann Pequignot of Université Laval participated in a panel on the theme " Artificial intelligence is driving the future of digital aviation ". He gave the audience a very good presentation of the DEEL project : Dependable & Explainable Learning. He reminded us of the challenges that comes with developing AI for aerospace. Collaboration between academia and industry, AI researchers and domain experts, is necessary to create trustworthy ML applications. The DEEL project supported by Consortium de recherche et d'innovation en aérospatiale au Québec (CRIAQ) therefore aims to take a first step towards the use of machine learning techniques to different issues in the Canadian aerospace industry via a multidisciplinary collaboration between several industrial players and several universities : Université Laval, Thales, BOMBARDIER, CAE Inc, Bell Flight, Polytechnique Montréal, McGill University, UQAM | Université du Québec à Montréal, Université de Montréal.
