Our Meeting with In Sue's Name Today, we had the incredible honor of meeting David Alan Taylor, the inspiring founder of In Sue's Name - a charity that holds a special place in our hearts. This charity was established by David and his family in loving memory of Sue, a remarkable woman who tragically lost her battle with a brain tumour in 2011 at the young age of 42, leaving behind two beautiful children. But today, we're not just here to share Sue's story. We want to introduce you all to something amazing that we've been working on - Influential Stars✨ with experiences In partnership with Virgin Experience Days. Our project is set to launch at the end of October 2023, and we couldn't be more excited! 🚀 Our mission is simple: to raise awareness about brain tumours and fundraise for brain tumour charities. But that's not all - we are committed to supporting charities across the entire UK! 🇬🇧 Now, here's where we need your help! David has reached out to all of you, our incredible community, to see if anyone would be interested in volunteering for this project. We need passionate individuals who can lend their expertise in marketing, PR, project management, and so much more. We are in desperate need of your skills and dedication. 💪 We want to be transparent - We are not a registered charity. We are a business, a startup with big dreams. Just like any new venture, we need to wait for funds to come to fruition before we can offer salaries to our team. But fear not, our voluntary work won't last forever. We are confident that with your support, we'll soon be able to compensate our incredible team for their hard work and dedication. So, what are you waiting for? Click the link in my bio to find out more about our project and how you can get involved. Together, we can make a difference, not only for brain tumour patients and their families but for all charities across the UK. Let's come together and create a future filled with hope and support. 💙 #InSuesName #InfluentialStars #CharityProject #MakingADifference #VolunteerOpportunity #GivingBack #UKCharities #BrainTumourAwareness https://lnkd.in/eHnxBHWV

As Easter approaches, a time of profound reflection and celebration for many of us, we at Parable Communications are reminded of our shared values with faith-based organizations. We, too, believe in hope, renewal, and the incredible gift of salvation. As we navigate the journey of helping these organizations amplify their voices, we're also reminded of Easter's more profound mission that we all strive to uphold. Easter is more than a holiday; it's a pivotal moment that offers everyone the gift of grace and redemption. It's a time when the message of love, sacrifice, and resurrection comes to the forefront, reminding us of the ultimate sacrifice made for salvation. In this season of renewal, we're inspired to think about how we, as a collective community, can further embody these principles in our daily missions. How can each of us, in our unique roles, carry the message of hope and love to those around us? How can our collective actions reflect the transformative power of this season? If you lead a faith-based organization, Easter is a profound opportunity for you to reconnect with your core mission. It's a chance to reflect on how your work serves as a testament to the values we cherish during this season. Whether through service, outreach, or simply being a beacon of hope in your community, every effort makes a difference. As we celebrate Easter, remember the gift of salvation and new beginnings. May this time encourage us to look beyond our challenges and see the opportunities for growth, impact, and renewal in our missions.

Friends and Colleagues, As many of you know, I am a passionate Board Member for Dallas Pets Alive! One of the biggest fundraising events for us is TODAY, North Texas Giving Day. Our goal today is to raise $115,000 so we can continue our amazing life-saving work! If you’re looking to give back, please consider donating to Dallas Pets Alive. Every bit helps and makes a big impact! ❤️ Thank you for your support! 🙏 https://lnkd.in/gsZdDbjw More about Dallas Pets Alive: Your support during North Texas Giving Day is not just a donation; it's a lifeline. Every gift you make goes directly to programs that are transforming the lives of animals and their humans. Our Foster and Adoption program is a beacon of hope for the most at-risk animals in our partner shelters, while our preventative programs—like PASS, Dogs Matter, and Bark Dorm—work tirelessly to keep pets out of shelters and in loving homes. These initiatives are not just about rescue; they're about building healthier, stronger communities where animals and people thrive together. The need is urgent. Many of the pets that come into our care have medical conditions so severe that shelters simply can't provide the care they need. Over a third of the animals we help are Major Medical Cases, requiring $1,000 or more in medical expenses. In 2023 alone, we spent more than $400,000 on treatments ranging from basic vaccinations to heartworm treatment and life-saving surgeries. This year, as we've taken on the incredible work of Dogs Matter and face the overwhelming overcrowding in North Texas shelters, the number of animals in our care has more than doubled. For the first time, we have more than 500 animals relying on our programs. While we've made strides in fundraising, the financial demands have outpaced our resources.
Every year, amazing supporters like you come together for Dallas Pets Alive on North Texas Giving Day. Your contributions are indispensable; they fuel our ability rescue animals and transform lives. We need your support now more than ever! This is our Excutive Director, Leslie Sans with one of our adoptable dogs, Sparkles, to remind you that you have the power to save lives. There is no donation too small — every little bit makes a world of difference to a pet in need. https://lnkd.in/dkrKMr2G https://lnkd.in/gGBFxgpw

Many of you have been paying attention to our current building project at Grace. Due to Black Friday, we’ve realized that we have enough money to buy one of the screens for our auditorium today, but we’d really like to buy two of them today (we need two because of how wide our auditorium is). Now, you might wonder why we think screens are so helpful for us, so let me explain: • we don’t have enough hymnals for every seat and we also use music that isn’t in the hymnals that we have. Currently, we print out every single song that we sing every single week. Having screens would fix this. • having screens gives us the ability to show announcements and remind congregants and visitors of upcoming events before and after services. • responsive readings (Calls to Worship, catechisms, and creeds) can be done easily by projecting the words on the screen • sermon notes can be projected to help the congregation better follow along • and when we host Vacation Bible School, we’ll be able to use the screens for music, dramas, and various other aspects of VBS (the screens would help for other programs as well—like our Day of Apologetics conference in September). As I said, we have enough to purchase one. The second one will cost $550 (normally, they’re $850 each). If you can help and you’re willing to help, please give online at giving.grbcpa.org or by mailing your gift to: Grace RBC, 411 Main St., PO Box 93, Ramey, PA 16671.

Lisa Eisen, Co-President of Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies, encourages Jewish funders to stay focused, committed and courageous in this fraught moment. "Ceding our spot at the table of humanity will not serve us, now or in the future. Our job as funders and practitioners is not to unravel the sacred bonds of our tribal and prophetic responsibilities, but rather to hold both. To choose both." Indigenous Peoples' Day recognizes and celebrates the history and resilience of Native American people across the United States. In 2021 Oregon officially adopted Indigenous Peoples Day as a state holiday. The Five Oaks historical site is local to us here in Hillsboro, Oregon and creates a tangible connection to the history and lasting impact of the Donation Land Claim Act of 1850, a criticized act that was used to displace Native nations and Indigenous Peoples from desirable land and relinquish it to incoming settlers. Tualatin Kalapuyans named these five oaks “Chatakuin”. The branches of these trees held host to many gatherings and served as a landmark for Native and early pioneer persons. Today, only one of the original 500-year-old trees remain, but the other four were planted from grafts of the original trees. Learn More Here: https://lnkd.in/gw4M2PUe
