EXECUTIVE SEARCH PROCESS Ever wondered how an Executive Search or Headhunting process should look like?. In several Headhunting / Executive Search companies I´ve collaborated with they just search. They are given a Job Title and an industry and they search for professionals, but many times I´ve experienced they overlook other important aspects. To me, is more about Research than just Search. That´s why I´ve closed positions that weren´t even open. That´s why I close positions that have been open for more than 6 months in less than a month, and that is considering it up to the moment an offer is accepted. That´s why I close positions with 3 candidates and don´t have to go over the long list. Because I research, learn andstudy the technical part of each position so I can have a better understanding so I can discuss on a technical level with the candidates and discern if they are or not, a fit. That also leads to the Decision Makers to rely on you even to the point of them letting you make the final decision. How I can help you as an employer….. Are you looking to fill a senior or specialist role? These roles are not always easy to recruit for and to just post on job boards or social media and then wait for them to apply will not always produce results in the required time frame, if at all. These potential candidates may not even be openly looking, so in that case job adverts won’t necessarily work. You need to be proactive! STOP ✋ Imagine how desperate it looks to a candidate when 5 recruiters call them about the same job vacancy. It creates an unnecessary or unjustified negative aura about your service 👀 Speaking from experience, I am unable to commit any further time, as it turns into a numbers game, which isn't a good use of anyone's day. Instead, find ONE trusted recruiter who understands and partners with your business and provides the following ✅ 📑 More information than 5 bullet points in an email as ultimately you'll be shifting through candidates who may/may not hit the mark. 📞 Instead, give your agency a briefing call and set them up for success. This allows for a discussion on projects, on-site presence etc, and the actual problem you are trying to solve. ⏰ A timeline for when you want to receive CVs and when you can interview. This allows for transparent communication to increase engagement and for both parties to plan non-recruitment tasks, which typically are a priority. Everyone has a job to do, let's try to be more efficient 💪

How to tell if you have a good Recruitment Consultant sat in front of you? Hiring is a stressful thing to do, particularly if recruiting is not your full time job. You get tens, maybe hundreds of CVs fill your inbox every week and it's exhausting even knowing who to reach out to and who to trust to represent your business in a tough market. So when you are thinking of engaging with an agency how do you know if they are going to do a good job or waste your time? ✅ They are keen to meet you- getting to know you is vital in interpreting the culture match needed. ✅ They have done some research into you before they meet you. ✅ They ask you questions- a LOT of questions. The agency you choose should be able to walk away from a conversation knowing how to sell your company, your department and the role itself. ✅ They tell you you're wrong.... 👀 This isn't always the case, but their market knowledge should guide you as to what is possible and what isn't. Overall, if they are investing time and trying to learn about you and the business in depth, they are likely going to perform! My advice- when you find an agency like this, and they want exclusivity, give it to them. They will be your brand ambassador in the market, and the more agencies doing that, the more your brand loses value!
