Two photos, two pivotal moments this week—all for one shared goal: driving evidence-based initiatives for systemic reforms and large-scale impact. We visited schools in one of the remote and forested blocks of Belgaum, where we were delighted to witness the dedication of teachers under Ganitha Ganaka, an evidence-driven statewide program. Parental engagement through 1:1 tutoring calls seems to be creating a lasting impact within the community. Second, an engaging discussion with the Additional Chief Secretary, CM's Office, Government of Karnataka at the iconic Suvarna Vidhana Soudha. Together with What Works Hub, J-PAL, and Youth Impact, we emphasised the importance of leveraging data and evidence to inform policies at the highest levels. These two efforts—immersing in grassroots realities and nudging data-driven policies—are not merely complementary but are the cornerstones of evidence-based initiatives.
