New networks of global Capital Asia and the Middle East will be focal points in the emerging networks of global capital flows – that’s according to our new report which analyses the rapid growth in private and public pools of wealth, as their financial links grow stronger and more connected. It’s been great to speak with Zawya and Al Bayan in more detail about how those global savings are being recycled into investments in the two regions. Take for example the capital reinvestment in the Gulf’s infrastructure projects - estimated at over US$3 trillion – of which approximately half of it is already committed. That level of development is rare during times of uneven central bank policy and is attracting investment like never before. Capital flows between the regions are still in their infancy, but it’s inevitable that investment will follow. https://lnkd.in/emDVKaKb.

Veritas is changing its handling of investments in China. Portfolio Manager Tapio Koivu spoke with AMWatch to explain why. "We used to outsource all investments in China to global external managers, but now China is becoming, in a way, a separate element within our emerging markets portfolio, which we can adjust ourselves," Koivu says. "Our goal is not to exclude China, but to have more room for maneuver. From now on, it will be more our own decision and under our own control how much of our assets are invested in China and to what direction we want to develop that exposure."
