This is my home office vibe and it’s the mantra I try to keep top of mind for both my personal and professional life I’m continually asking myself: What are you doing to create new opportunities? What are you doing to come up with creative solutions? What are you doing to create the life you want? How are you inspiring your kids? How are you inspiring your prospects, clients and colleagues? How are you inspiring yourself? Do you believe in what you offer? Do you believe in the difference you make? Do you believe that you deserve a seat at the table? Confidence comes from asking and answering. From adjusting and believing. From doing. How are you answering these questions? This post is for me - feeling stuck. Learning a million things in school (aimlessly?) I have big dreams (looking too far?) but I need an entry level (CSIRT/ SOC Analyst) to get on the path to those dreams (offensive security/ pentesting.) Just now learning about the superpowers inside of me - all of the soft skills I have developed in my current role in support desk. Collaborating within and across teams, adapting to changing technologies, communication (listening and understanding)… I am discovering the curiosity that has always been inside me, and it is a super power! Change is scary. I am making excuses for staying where I am. Thinking I will not get a role in Cybersecurity without the Security+ cert. That’s the enemy inside me. I am close to being done studying for the cert, but starting to think it’s not going to be the deciding factor of getting an entry role. I have a passion to help others and that is getting me noticed! I am gaining the confidence to talk about what I have to offer.
