WEEK 3 ADVENT-WEEK 3: JOY  Today is the Third Sunday of Advent, which is Joy. And the ‘joy’ we are talking about is a transcendent joy. The third Sunday of Advent reminds us of the joy the world experienced at the birth of Jesus. It represents the midpoint of Advent, reflecting the pleasure the faithful have reached. Unlike worldly joy, biblical “Joy” is the assurance that Christ is with us and in control of all aspects of our lives.  The third candle, the candle of Joy, is pink. JOY gives us reason to praise His name even when we endure difficult times. The Holy Spirit is our advocate when we accept Jesus in faith, anointed with the oil of joy. God wants us to experience the fullness of joy that lasts and gives us the strength to endure during difficult times. Our relationship with Jesus represents our Divine Personal Goodness and turns those situations into times of spiritual joy. True joy is the result of lives restored and hearts prepared for the presence of Christ. VERSES:  Luke 2:10-11 – But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” Hebrews 1:9 (NIV) 9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
