Supporting our community is crucial, especially those who are experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder abuse, stalking, and/or human trafficking. As a Faces of Hope Champion, my goal is to raise $500 to support the cause. You can help by donating at https://lnkd.in/g9xXaiCa. Your contribution can make a huge difference. For just $10, you can provide essential toiletries for those in need. $25 can buy socks and underwear, addressing basic clothing necessities. $35 covers the cost of a prepaid cell phone, a critical communication tool. $50 can supply a full tank of gas for those escaping dangerous situations, while $100 provides a grocery gift card for immediate food needs. A donation of $1000 can fund one week of comprehensive crisis counseling, case management, and legal support. Let's come together as a community to support those in need. Every little bit helps. #FacesOfHope #SupportSurvivors #IdahoGives

This is worth a 1-minute watch, $5 going straight to saving the kids... 5 kids saved in the blink of an eye - great! The problem with this really funny scene? If 100% of donations go towards the beneficiaries (saving 5 kids), who pays for the 3 staff salaries in this scene? Or the fuel of the vehicle? The Op-Ex (running cost/overhead/admin) constraints that many charities/non-profits are working under is crippling - leading to burnout, high staff turnover and organizations that struggle to get by. Something to think about when you are making your next donation. Most organizations know how best to use your donation. https://lnkd.in/eS6NsXi9

At many organizations, including Save A Family Plan, the fiscal new year is April first. This is a great time to check with your employer to see if they offer a donation matching program. If they do, it could mean DOUBLING the impact of your charitable giving! Here is a great video submitted by longtime donors, Brad and Misty, sharing how they did it. If you're willing to share this info with friends and family, please share this post or send them the direct link (https://lnkd.in/dHzqVeQu) Here's a tip: if your company does not currently offer a gift-matching program... maybe they will if you propose one :) #DoubleYourDonation #giftmatchingprogram #peoplehelpingpeople #sustainabledevelopment #saveafamilyplan

An important organization is in need of your help:
We got way more excitement than we bargained for on Saturday night. After leaving a phenomenal performance by Tituss Burgess at The Cabaret, we figured the excitement was over, but then we noticed smoke rising from a building two doors north, just east of the lot where we'd parked our car. As we said goodbye to our friends in the lot, while watching the smoke, we began flailing our arms and shouting "FIRE" at a couple of people in the windows. We didn't dial 911 as sirens and lights were already present. By the time Andrew Keeler and I had gotten home, WTHR-TV was covering the news - HVAF's housing was aflame. I immediately reached out to the CEO of United Way of Central Indiana, Fred Payne, because HVAF - Helping Veterans And Families is a longtime partner in impact in our community - providing short and long-term housing and wraparound services to veterans and their families in Central Indiana to provide a foundation upon which they can build financial stability and opportunities for their families. What does it mean to #LIVEUNITED but to take care of one another during a crisis? If you are able, please join me in supporting HVAF as they seek to provide emergency housing to approximately 4 dozen who were displaced by this fire, not to mention all of the day-services that will be impacted. Disclaimer: The aforementioned opinions are my own, they have not been vetted by and may not reflective of Raymond James's.

In 1970, community members in New Hope, Minnesota, joined with faith-based partners to establish People Responding in Social Ministry (PRISM, Golden Valley MN) to help neighbors struggling with food insecurity. What began as a small shed of essentials in New Hope has grown into a resource serving a larger community area, stretching into Plymouth, Crystal, New Hope, Robbinsdale, and Golden Valley. PRISM’s mission is to provide social services and connections that empower people to build healthy, stable lives. Programs include the Marketplace Food Shelf, housing assistance, Shop for Change thrift store, and children’s programs offering birthday party supplies, a Holiday Toy Shoppe, and back-to-school items. As food insecurity rises, PRISM remains a crucial resource. Before the pandemic, 1 in 11 families faced hunger; today, it’s 1 in 6. Despite these challenges, PRISM treats every participant with dignity and compassion, providing vital services while honoring the resilience of the individuals they serve. One of the reasons why we do what we do at Sirat - The Cleft Warriors Ensemble This indeed made our day! To know more about us, check out the link below: https://lnkd.in/dkejemAh
A simple and beautiful example as to why communities are important 👇🏻 A new parent in our Sirat - The Cleft Warriors Ensemble community recently shared that their unborn baby will have a cleft lip and palate. With support and determination, they’ve chosen to embrace the journey ahead. I was glad to see this message in the morning, it's an affirmation of the message we're trying to convey about Sirat and what people can expect. Sirat exists to ensure that families facing cleft know they're not alone. We connect parents with a supportive network, expert advice, and resources to navigate this path together. Help us reach more families—contribute here or share this post to spread the word. Contribute to the campaign here: https://lnkd.in/gXgWXwB8

I am taking part in the 2024 Sporting Wheelies CEO Wheelie Challenge! This news also coincides with Sporting Wheelies COO, and long time client of SDA Services’ Dane Cross’ incredible victory yesterday where his SDA home was enrolled AND he was also approved for Appendix H! This has been a 5 year journey for Dane, with the assistance of Greg Barry and SDA Services, so we are celebrating that HARD!!! So, what does this challenge mean for me? 👉 It will give me the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people living with disability, by improving access and inclusion and raising vital funds. 👉 I will spend the day using a wheelchair at the office and at home to gain a better understanding of the day-to-day challenges of people living with disability may face. 👉 I will experience first-hand how simple things may be incredibly difficult for someone with a disability, such as navigating into the office, getting to your desk or accessing facilities like bathrooms. (I will make sure I pop the vodka on the bottom shelf that day!!) I will need to raise a minimum of $5000 to be “officially” included in the challenge. But if I don’t get there, I am still 100% committed to taking part and will hire a wheelchair if needed. If you want to learn more (or have $5 spare to donate), please click on this link: https://lnkd.in/gpjyACCH
