🏅Talent can do well but Specialists always excel 🏅 Yesterday, there was a Red Bull 100m exhibition race between two incredible athletes - Armand Duplantis (pole vault) and Karsten Warholm (400m hurdles). Despite being world record holders in their own events, which involve sprinting, their times in the 100m left them several meters behind what the top sprinters would have run. It was a clear reminder that even the best in one area can’t perform at the highest level outside their field of expertise. At SAP Contractors, we understand this well. Like Duplantis and Warholm in their own events, our deep focus and expertise help us consistently deliver excellent results in the areas we know inside and out. It's been a year with AGS! And by LinkedIn standards, I should be either thrilled, or honored, or thankful. So thankful it is! 😊 And also wishing to share a few words about this journey. Starting with onboarding literally in the field, viz., in the warehouses of Tanzania and until today it is a beautiful trip! After more than 10 years in finance relying on data and technology somewhere in the clouds, touching the ground with the business constantly sorting, storing and moving agricultural commodities across borders and seas felt fresh and developing. Many thanks to Ruslan Barashian and Akim Talibov for my introduction into international trade! After many years within international teams, but working on the Russian market, taking HR responsibility for international offices and people from different parts of the world was a game changer! Warmest thanks to Kristina Roppelt for her support to me and the company in navigating the cross-cultural communication matters! The new matters that I had to figure out were countless. - How to help employees communicate effectively, build trust and relationships across cultures and borders. - What is the taxation in China and India and how to determine the right figures in the offer letters. - How to securely pay salaries across borders without creating a monster process with our multiple entities? - How to build an efficient onboarding process in such a diverse environment? - How to support and oversee HR matters in Tanzania without slowing the local business teams down, what I sometimes felt HQ office was doing towards my teams in one of my previous experiences. No confusion here, saying this, I also understand that it's actually thanks to those colleagues from HQ that I know the benchmark for many of key international business processes, in HR, marketing and beyond. Warmest thanks and feelings to those of you who are still keeping an eye on me here! 🤗 And of course, so grateful to my HR team for dealing with those topics together with me! Daria Basakina, Veronika Tikhomirova and others not on LinkedIn... yet 😅 ❤️ I will gradually develop here on some of these challenges and those to come our way in future! Stay tuned!
