In the ever-evolving world of hospitality, one thing I have come to realize is the incredible power of women in this industry. While we have seen great progress, there’s still work to be done to ensure women have equal opportunities to shine and lead. At ELIVAAS, we strongly believe that diversity is key to success, and empowering women in leadership roles is an essential part of that. I have had the privilege of witnessing the unique perspectives, emotional intelligence, and innovative ideas women bring to the table. Their contributions enrich not just our teams, but the entire guest experience. For me, it’s not just about hiring more women; it’s about creating a supportive environment where they can grow, thrive, and have their voices heard. This means equal opportunities, mentorship, and actively challenging any barriers or stereotypes that stand in the way. Empowering women benefits our entire industry and society. When we give women the platform to lead, they excel in ways that transform the workplace and beyond. I am committed to breaking down these barriers and fostering an industry where talent and hard work know no gender. I would love to hear your thoughts—what are you doing to empower women in your organization? #WomenInLeadership #HospitalityIndustry #DiversityAndInclusion #GenderEquality #EmpowerWomen #Leadership #CareerDevelopment #FemaleLeadership #HospitalityCareers #WomenInBusiness #GenderParity #Empowerment

2023 has been everything but boring. There have been many losses, and the industry is still suffering but it has also been a year of Progress and Possibilities. Looking back on the year, I started to wonder, where I wish to bring my focus and career and what are the best ways in which I can contribute. McKinsey's recent article on the experiences of women in professional settings really struck a chord with me: https://lnkd.in/eJgVWBmn As 2024 preparations are on the way, it's clear that creating an environment where everyone can thrive remains a top priority. The article dives into the progress made and the challenges still ahead, emphasizing the need for intentional efforts to empower women in their careers. Key Reflections: 1️⃣ Cheers to Progress: There has been progress in promoting gender diversity at all levels. But the party doesn't stop here and we still have a long way to go – now it is time to really put an emphasis on that middle level for creating even more opportunities for women to shine. 2️⃣ Leadership Magic: It's not just about having a seat at the table; it's about ensuring that the leaders at the table champion diversity. More than often D&I is seen as a specific department doing their own thing when the work should really be embedded in everything we do! 3️⃣ Flexibility Rocks: Workplaces should be spaces that adapt to the needs of all employees. By offering flexibility and unwavering support, we're creating an atmosphere where everyone can bring their A-game, no matter their gender. That is why Unity is not afraid to change course when needed and an office presence is no longer a requirement! This makes me wonder, what initiatives do you believe will drive positive change in 2024? I'm especially interested in exploring the role of recruiters in championing the growth of women within companies. While we may not cast the final vote, I would love to hear about your strategies that are transforming workplaces for the better. #DiversityandInclusion #WomenintheWorkplace #YearInReview #2024Goals #techcareers #womenintech

Women in the Workplace 2024 – There's been progress with persistent #barriers. A recent McKinsey & Company report shows that, while women have made strides in #leadership, the “broken rung” still blocks progress, especially for women of #colour. Women remain less likely than men to advance from entry-level to manager roles, leading to significant #underrepresentation further up the ladder. At Mahogany Inclusion Partners, we know that fostering #allyship, providing #mentorship, and creating #inclusive policies are essential to breaking these barriers. Real change starts with actions that support women at every stage. I'm reading through McKinsey's Women in the Workplace 2024: The 10th-anniversary report. I have a few thoughts. The report states: - Women hold only 28% of C-suite roles, with even lower representation for women of color. - For every 100 men promoted to manager, only 81 women are promoted. My takeaway: Companies where leadership is actively involved in diversity efforts see 25% higher retention of women. As alleys, we (meaning men & women) need to prioritize mentorship, sponsorship, and equitable promotion practices to make real change. If you are unsure where to start, I will shout out to Julie Kratz and her team at Next Pivot Point, who are amazing at helping to start the conversation. #Diversity #Equity #WomenInLeadership #InclusiveWorkplaces https://lnkd.in/gTAeu6uN

The “broken rung” in the workplace pipeline is still holding many women back. McKinsey & Company’s latest report shows the need for real support through mentorship, allyship, and policies that give women the flexibility they need to succeed. It’s clear there’s still work to do, and every action we take now can create better opportunities for women. ❤️ #BreakTheBarrier

International Women's Day 2024: Together We Rise and Make a Difference - - - Women in the workplace can achieve incredible things when we support each other. Allyship is key. It's about actively advocating for one another's growth and success, and fostering a sense of belonging. I've had the experience in workplaces where women felt that we needed to compete against each other instead work together towards common goals and support each other in succeeding. I've also worked in environments where women were shamed for speaking up, sharing our ideas, being “too timid”, being “too bold”, being “too loud”, “being too quiet”, being "too emotional", being "too opinionated" - you catch my drift. Can you relate to this? Imagine a work environment where women feel empowered to share ideas, take risks, celebrate successes, inspire each other, and advocate for equal opportunities. An environment that's inclusive, diverse, and equitable. Now this is something I'd love to co-create with others! 😍 We can collectively raise awareness and create this environment by: 💎 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 Amplify the voices of women by acknowledging our contributions in meetings and presentations. 💎 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 Work together to share our knowledge and experience with other women, and advocate for their personal growth and career development. 💎 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗮𝘀 Speak up against bias, stereotypes, gender disparity, and discrimination. By working together not just for International Women's Day on 8th March 2024 but every day, we can break down barriers and create a more equitable future. Let's be each other’s cheerleaders and create impactful waves together. ➡️ Tell me in the comments below: How are you an ally for women in the workplace? 🔔 Lead with courage and purpose, live with passion. 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻: 𝟭 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝟳 It’s been 9 months down the line working with PurpleX & 11 months with Coinshell, and here’s an interesting story: I’m part of a team of 7 people, where I’m the only woman among 6 men. Did you know that there are fewer women employees in India? Reports show that women make up only about 𝟮𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲, and this participation rate has been declining over the years. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: ▪️ Are there fewer opportunities for women? ▪️ Do societal norms hold women back? ▪️ Does representation vary by industry? Being the only woman in the room isn’t always easy, but it’s an opportunity to break stereotypes. PurpleX and Coinshell have provided me with a safe space to grow, valuing my ideas and contributions while fostering a culture where inclusivity is more than just a buzzword. They say, "𝗘𝗸 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗮𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗸𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗸 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗸𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝗶." At PurpleX & Coinshell, that hand uplifts, supports, and empowers proving that workplaces do better when they value diversity! But this isn’t just about me, my workplace, or even one industry. It’s about 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱: 🌟 Safe spaces create confidence. 🌟 Representation inspires progress. 🌟 Support fuels success. Imagine a world where workplaces across every industry mirrored this mindset. A world where diversity isn’t just a target but a driver of innovation, where women are not just participants but leaders, and where the phrase "breaking barriers" becomes a thing of the past because the barriers no longer exist. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀: ✅ Encouraging businesses to adopt policies that prioritize gender diversity. ✅ Challenging stereotypes that limit women’s participation in certain fields. ✅ Investing in mentoring programs to prepare more women for leadership roles. Breaking stereotypes isn’t just about challenges; it’s about seizing opportunities. It’s about workplaces like PurpleX and Coinshell proving that diverse, balanced teams are the future and creating platforms where everyone, regardless of gender, can grow.
