Gil pushed for more lenient construction rules, bypassing official planning guidelines. As a result, over 18,000 properties were built in a legal gray zone, leaving the city with long-lasting challenges. 🏗️ What Happened Next? By 2006, the consequences caught up, and the city’s government was dissolved. Fast forward to today, Marbella is working with a nearly 40-year-old urban plan that doesn’t address modern challenges like sustainability, digital infrastructure, or traffic management. But things are changing… A New Sustainable Future Marbella is now embracing a more sustainable approach to urban planning!
