🛑 Investing in the Stylist/Style Expert ONLY for the Brand Photoshoot Session‼️ Why only make the investment in hiring a wardrobe stylist for your brand photoshoot session when you have style struggles on a daily basis? To make the investment work for you, hire a wardrobe stylist that can work with you beyond your brand photoshoot. You still need to get dressed on a daily basis! You don’t want to hire a stylist, walk away from the photoshoot session and still be out here looking a mess in these streets! You are the brand and therefore you should look like it - confidently showing up in style aligned with your brand any time you step out! So if you’re considering working with a style expert, consider making the full investment into upleveling your wardrobe on a daily basis. You still have to show up and get dressed every day. A brand photoshoot session with a style expert, or wardrobe stylist is NOT going to dove your style struggles. When you only hire a stylist for the brand photoshoot session, you walk away with the same style struggles. You haven’t found a solution to help you build a wardrobe that aligns with your lifestyle and brand! You STILL do NOT know how to overcome your style challenges with a attainable solution! Building a wardrobe that aligns with your lifestyle takes time and strategy. Take that time to invest in yourself so that you can step out looking flawless and amazing whenever you get dressed, and don’t leave that feeling on set, only for a brand photoshoot. You deserve to look great and dress in style on a regular basis! Dress like the boss you are!

🔍 Crafting the Perfect Photoshoot: Our Personalized Approach to Model Recruitment At our fashion media brand, we believe that the success of any networking photoshoot hinges on the people involved. That's why, for our latest event in Miami, we didn't just look for talent—we carefully curated a community of models and photographers who align with our values. Our process is deeply personal: instead of relying on mass call-outs, we took the time to reach out to each model and photographer individually. This approach isn't just about finding the right look; it's about ensuring a positive, creative, and safe environment where everyone feels valued and inspired. We believe that when everyone on set is comfortable and confident, it shows in the final product. The energy is electric, the creativity flows, and the results speak for themselves. But this isn't just a one-time thing. We apply this meticulous method to every event and job on our calendar. Whether it's a high-profile shoot or an intimate gathering, our commitment to curating the right team remains unwavering. By building strong relationships with the talent we work with, we're able to consistently deliver exceptional results while fostering a community that thrives on mutual respect and shared creativity. Our last event was a testament to this approach. The synergy between the models, photographers, and our team was palpable, leading to a truly remarkable photoshoot that we're incredibly proud of. As we look forward to our upcoming projects, we remain committed to this individualized recruitment process, knowing that it's the foundation of the positive and dynamic environments that make our events stand out. #FashionMedia #ModelRecruitment #Networking #CreativeProcess #SafeEnvironment #MiamiFashion #CuratedTalent

HOW TO PLAN FOR A PHOTOSHOOT I do a photoshoot every year. Yes - I'm one of those people. Not because I'm vain but because I genuinely enjoy documenting my evolution. Quite an amount of work goes into organizing a photoshoot, so I'm going to list out what exactly goes into organizing one because today's post is for people (ladies mainly) who have always wanted to have a photoshoot but don't know where to start. 1. Create a moodboard to figure out what you want to achieve. If you don't have a vision of what you want, you'll most likely settle for whatever you get at the end of the shoot. It also helps the photographer plan. 2. Get the right outfit, including makeup, accessories, shoes, and hair (thank God I have locs). You can have a shoot without all these things, but again, you'll have to settle with whatever you receive from the photographer at the end of the shoot. More often than not, great-looking people get great pictures. 3. Find the right photographer for your kind of shoot. Not every photographer does every kind of shoot. Some are better at shooting with natural light, and others are great in a studio. It all depends on your mood board, your location, and your budget. 4. Find a location for your shoot. Usually, photographers know good locations. But in case you and your photographer don't know where to take pictures, there are a lot of studio spaces and restaurants that will gladly let you use their spaces for a fee. Usually from 6,000 to 60,000 depending on the type of shoot and the location. 5. Anticipate it being a lot of work. As I said, a lot goes into doing a photoshoot so I'll give you 5 other summarized tips just to be generous. - Go with a friend/sibling/anyone (you need moral support) - Play some music. It makes you more comfortable. - Have specific poses in your moodboard to replicate so you don't have to figure out your poses yourself. - Take some make-up to touch up in case you sweat. - Expect to be a little awkward at first. Hopefully, that helps someone. Now I'll list a couple of photographers I know and have worked with previously - DM any of them on Instagram when you're ready. @alphamorganphotography @__nadiah_ @bakeryimaginations @dawalidavid @mr.mufasir

The Ultimate Guide to Preparing for Your Business Portrait Photoshoot Introduction Preparing for a business portrait photoshoot can be overwhelming. A professional image is more than just a photo; it's an essential part of your personal and professional brand. In this article, I’ll share valuable tips on how to best prepare for your shoot to achieve the best possible results. Discussion A key element for a successful photoshoot is communication with your photographer. Discuss your ideas and goals. Talk about the desired color palette for clothing and backgrounds to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day of the shoot. Openness to Feedback As an experienced photographer, I bring valuable insights. Be open to suggestions, as they can significantly improve the final result. Goal: Multiple Photos Aim to receive more than just one final photo. This offers flexibility for various purposes, such as updating your LinkedIn profile, changing your company directory photo, integrating into email signatures, marketing materials, or as an application photo for resumes. The Right Clothing Choosing your clothing is crucial for the impression you want to make. Fitting Outfits Make sure your clothing fits well. Ill-fitting clothing can leave an unkempt impression. Bring your outfits ironed and on hangers. Bring various options for layering to the photoshoot, such as blazers, jackets, or sweaters. The photographer can advise you on what looks most flattering. Adding or removing layers gives you a greater variety of photos. Patterns and Colors Avoid bold patterns and large logos. Solid-colored clothing in colors like dark blue, gray, beige, brown, and dark green is ideal. Black and white are acceptable but not recommended. Accessories Avoid flashy accessories like necklaces, earrings, or scarves, as these can be distracting in a headshot. Scarves are unflattering in headshots as they can add extra volume. For men: a tie is optional but should have a minimal pattern.

In the age of phone cameras and AI, most people are wondering if they really need a professional photographer. The short answer is, yes, you do! People ask me all of the time what is it that I do that warrants them spending the money (investment) for my work. The list of what makes a professional headshot great is long but let's start with the basic six components that a professional headshot photographer performs. Speaking for myself, the very first thing I do is listen. I listen to what my client is looking for in terms of a 'look'. I always follow up with the question of, how are you going to use this/these headshots. Most of the time people use their headshots for either social media or for publication. From there, I discuss what kind of background they require, what kind of clothing they will be wearing, how many outfits they would like to be photographed in, and of course the big topic of having professional makeup applied. The second important item of what a professional headshot photographer offers that your phone camera doesn't is lighting! Lighting is what makes a headshot great or horrible. Third - I get my client comfortable in front of the camera. I ease my clients into the process by playing their favorite music, take practice shots, and just get them comfortable sitting on the stool. The fourth technique I employ during a headshot photoshoot is showing my client his/her shots on my camera as I start shooting so they can see for themselves how good they look! You can't believe how calming & confidence building this step is in the headshot process. Posture is a big deal and as my client is adjusting to the photo set, lights, and being in front of the camera, I coach them on their posture and that includes head, shoulders, and arms. From there, I have my client change position from left to right. Why? Every person has their 'better' side! Yes, it's true. Next to last, the fifth reason why having a professional headshot photographer do your headshot matters, is getting your personality to come through the camera! If I can't get your personality to shine through in a genuinely joyous way, how is this headshot going to convey to your audience that you're 'user friendly'? Last, but one of the most important reasons why you should use a professional headshot photographer is the professional editing they perform to get the perfect final headshot image. When I perform the headshot editing, I use a professional proprietary portrait software that assists with skin smoothing, diminishing blemishes, removing pimples, whitening eyes, cleaning & whitening teeth, remove highlights to skin and head, applying makeup if required, adding color to lips, and fixing any clothing issues that might show up. The background is also edited as well as the cropping of the client into the appropriate size format. Does this sound like a lot of work to you? It is! And, that's what goes into making a great headshot!

Time is money! If you are putting off a Brand Photoshoot because you are busy running a business, I can put your mind at ease! Planning and preparing for a brand photoshoot can seem daunting, especially for busy professional women who juggle multiple responsibilities. So the sound of a photoshoot being a distraction to your busy diary can be off putting! Here is what I do to help my my clients so they can start the shoot day with ease. 🟣 Shoot List: Together we create a detailed shot list outlining the specific images you need for your brand. This helps streamline the photoshoot process and ensures that no important shots are missed. E.g Speaker Profile, Behind the Scenes, LinkedIn Profile, Emotion Images etc... 🟢 We discuss versatile locations for the photoshoot that offer a variety of backdrops within close proximity. This minimizes travel time between locations and maximizes the number of shots captured in a single session. E.g. a local cafe, outdoor settings, a hotel, a landmark, graffiti walls etc. 🔵 Outfits: I advise clients to plan their outfits for the photoshoot well in advance. They can save time on the day of the shoot by having their outfits pre-selected and ready to go. I also work closely with a stylist so colour, shape and outfit choices can be arranged much better and easier. 🟠 I not only suggest clients have their hair and makeup professionally done before the photoshoot to save time on grooming, I also collaborate with experts who can either supply on location or meet the client prior to the shoot. This gives them time back by avoiding trying to find the right person. 🔴 Tasks: I encourage clients to delegate tasks and responsibilities on the day of the photoshoot, such as arranging props or coordinating logistics, to free up their time and focus on posing for the camera. 🟤 Props: If props are involved in the photoshoot, I advise clients to organise them beforehand and have them easily accessible on set. This prevents unnecessary delays and keeps the photoshoot running smoothly. This could include laptop, books, tools, pens etc. If time is important to you, I will ensure that you can breathe easy and know that you are in good hands when you book your photo experience. Ready to find out more? Get in touch for your upcoming rebrand or launch. My diary for June is open. Below is the fabulous Carol Dixon, a superb nutritionist who is just launching her new website.
