People often get clarity confused with certainty. ⁠ ⁠ Certainty is definitive. It suggests that something WILL happen. ⁠ ⁠ Clarity is more flexible. It's a guide, not a guarantee. ⁠ ⁠ The reality is that nobody on the planet knows what they're doing. ⁠ ⁠ Everybody is making it up as they go. ⁠ ⁠ Clarity is not about having everything figured out with certainty. ⁠ ⁠ It's about having a general sense of where you want to end up, and then taking action to move in that direction. ⁠ ⁠ You don't have to get it right. ⁠ ⁠ In fact, if you're trying to get it right there's a good chance that you'll never even take the first step. ⁠ ⁠ There are no guarantees in life. ⁠ ⁠ And that's true clarity. ⁠ ⁠ #clarity #clarityinthefastlane #vision #wisdom #results #growthmindset⁠

Perspective matters. As everything in our lives becomes more complicated, I sometimes fall into this mental trap where I want to see things in either black or white... I guess its my mind trying to simplify life again. This sculpture by Swiss artist Markus Raetz shows the importance of perspectives: Yes becomes No or - more optimistically - a NO becomes a YES I find that the fastest way to changing perspectives is to ask Why? and allowing for a meaningful and honest conversation to happen, with care, curiosity and active listening. Do you have a strong vision for your organization? A strong vision touches our core values and purpose, therefore motivating people to take action. So, how can we inspire others? 1) Be explicit: Use descriptive phrases to create a mental picture of what lies ahead. What does victory look like? The more specific, the better. 2) Make it relatable:  Help your team understand your vision of their goals and values. By doing so, it will help them connect to the bigger picture and the significance of their contributions. 3) Keep it simple: A vision should be easy to understand and communicate. If it's too complex, it will be hard for people to rally around. 4) Be authentic: Your enthusiasm about this purpose undermines any doubt and reluctance among others.
