Did you know that protein is the second largest matter in brain after water? This World Brain Day, it's of significance to remember to take care of the brain along with your physical health, and food—especially protein—plays a major part in maintaining both. It's critical to feed your brain with foods which are high in protein. They also aid in the healing process following traumatic brain injuries and support brain growth and long-term memory development. 👉 Do you suffer from brain fog? Let’s take a look at ways in which you can BANISH this for good. ★ ELIMINATE NUTRIENT DEFICIENCIES: Having any nutrient deficiency can have a negative effect on your brain function. Iron, B12, Zinc, Folate, Calcium, Magnesium - whatever nutrient you are deficient in, it will definitely contribute to poor brain function/brain fog. You MUST focus on correcting these basic deficiencies before anything. 🚑STABILISING BLOOD-SUGAR: So many people are peaking and crashing. What this means is that they are experiencing extreme fluctuations in blood sugar levels. This causes a host of negative effects to mental clarity, verbal fluency, alertness and much more. I will be sharing some blood sugar REGULATING tricks in future posts. 🏃🏾PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/MOVEMENT Get moving. There is actually an overwhelming amount of research that supports exercise as a therapy to DELAY and help ALLEVIATE the negative symptoms of cognitive decline. Beyond just simply helping with basic circulation, exercise can actually increase BDNF, NGF and other potent hormones/peptides in the brain that actually GROW and CONNECT brain cells/neurons! 👨🏽⚕️IMPROVE THYROID OUTPUT/METABOLISM: Our thyroid REGULATES and GOVERNS thousands of reactions in the body. It plays a CRUCIAL role in cellular energy metabolism, food to energy efficiency, day-to-day energy and most importantly our BRAIN function (Sandels et al., 2011). With a slugging thyroid, comes a sluggish mind. On the flip side, having a thyroid hormones that are OVER-active can actually be detrimental to brain health as well. 💊TAKE NOOTROPICS: Relatively unfamiliar to many people, however, Nootropics are not something new. They are compounds (natural and synthetic) that are designed to help you various aspects of brain function. I will be sharing these in the future, as this is my absolute area of expertise and I personally have more than 6 years experience using and researching them.

🧠 The Marvel of the Human Brain: Protecting and Supporting Its Health 🧠 The human brain is nothing short of extraordinary. Weighing about 1.4 kilograms, it’s responsible for every thought, emotion, and action we experience. Despite its brilliance, the brain is vulnerable to age-related degeneration, with conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive decline affecting millions worldwide. 🌟 The Risks of Degeneration Lifestyle Factors: Poor diet, lack of exercise, and stress can negatively impact brain health. Oxidative Stress: An imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants can damage brain cells. Age-Related Decline: Memory, attention, and processing speed often slow as we grow older. ✨ The Role of Supplementation While a healthy lifestyle is the foundation of brain health, supplementation can provide the extra support needed to protect and enhance cognitive function. Research suggests that certain nutrients play a vital role: Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Found in fish oil, these are essential for brain structure and function. Antioxidants: Vitamins C and E combat oxidative stress, supporting long-term brain health. B-Vitamins: Critical for energy production and reducing homocysteine levels, linked to cognitive decline. Adaptogens: Natural substances such as Lion's Mane stimulate brain cell growth and protect nerves. 🌱 Empowering the Future By focusing on brain health, we can unlock not only sharper thinking and improved memory but also a better quality of life as we age. Whether it’s through diet, exercise, or targeted supplementation, investing in our brain is an investment in our potential. #Neuro #Health #Wellness #BiomeHealth

The Power of Cold Exposure Following up on my previous post about the incredible benefits of heat shock proteins, today I want to dive into their counterpart, cold shock proteins (CSPs) and how cold exposure, like ice baths or cold plunges, can transform your health. Cold shock proteins, particularly RNA-binding motif 3 (RBM3), are produced when our bodies face cold temperatures. These proteins play a critical role in protecting and regenerating brain synapses, which may help combat cognitive decline and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. RBM3 can also positively influence genetic expression, reduce inflammation, and support overall brain health. Beyond brain health, cold exposure activates brown adipose tissue (BAT), a type of fat that burns calories to generate heat. This process is known as cold thermogenesis. Research shows that regular cold exposure can significantly increase brown fat activity, boosting metabolism, improving insulin sensitivity, and aiding in fat loss. In one study, repeated cold exposure led to a 45% increase in brown fat volume and a doubling of oxidative metabolism in just 20 days! Cold exposure also triggers the release of norepinephrine, which not only reduces inflammation but also enhances mood and improves sleep quality. This makes cold exposure a powerful tool for both physical and mental well-being. While the long-term benefits of cold exposure are still being studied, the existing evidence is compelling. If you're intrigued by the science behind CSPs and cold exposure, take the plunge and discover what cold shock proteins can do for you!

Your brain is made up of about 60% fat, and the composition of that fat impacts how healthy your brain is and how well it works. The standard American diet is high in omega-6 fatty acids and low in omega-3 fats. Improving the amount of omega-3 fats people get promotes a healthier brain, better cognition, executive function, mood, and even healthier tears. Find how you can use omega-3 fatty acids to support your brain health. #nbihealth #drjohnneustadt #smallbusiness #onlineshopping #dietarysupplements https://smpl.is/9wi0w

#Protein and #amino acids play crucial roles in supporting brain health, #nerve function, #mood regulation, and overall longevity of both brain and body. Proteins, composed of amino acids, are the building blocks of #neurotransmitters, which are essential for brain communication and mood regulation. For example, the amino acid tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin, a key neurotransmitter that influences our mood, sleep, and emotional well-being. Without these essential building blocks we can experience mood fluctuations, brain fog, energy dips, hormonal imbalances and #appetite swings and poor #immunity. Amino acids are also central to our brain and nerve wellbeing. They contribute to the formation of myelin, the protective sheath around nerves, which ensures rapid signal transmission across the nervous system. Furthermore, proteins aid in repairing and growing neural tissue, thus supporting cognitive function and potentially delaying age-related cognitive decline. Protein is also necessary for our muscles and the maintenance of healthy hair, skin and nail growth - our appearance is often one of the first places to show up as a signal of low protein. Boosting protein intake is a wellbeing biohack that can make a difference to how we think and feel everyday! https://lnkd.in/g3NbUMqn
