Hello connections 😄 I have some question to ask coz im a bit confuse already regarding shift worker that their working schedule falls on PH. Recently, i have staff not able to come to work on tht day (PH) which also his working schedule as usual. So the question is, If he did not come work will his leave consider as PH leave or he need to apply EL/AL on tht day ? Fyi: this staff is under F&B line. Normally, if staff work on PH, the payment will be under PH rate.

There are a lot of ways that people measure job satisfaction. Employers often send out satisfaction surveys because keeping employees happy reduces the cost of turnover. But it also tends to make people (and therefore companies) more productive. As an employee, job satisfaction can impact both mental and physical health. There are several ways to measure job satisfaction. The one I used for my dissertation was the Spector Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS). This one was validated in employees in human services fields. Of course, no dietitians were used. But it was validated using nurses and community health workers (among others), so it was the closest thing I could find to dietitians. The JSS measures satisfaction in 9 different areas: pay, promotion, supervision, fringe benefits, contingent rewards, operating procedures, coworkers, nature of work, and communication. Next week we will start to break down these topics.

That’s how I do it.
Got a call last minute (0000hrs) to fill a site 24/7 Coverage by a client. Needed 2 S/O’s on days 1 S/O on Nights. He needed it to start in 6hrs and just over 100mi from our base. So we called our people & got the staff. Our C.E.O. S. Murphy and 2 others got a go bag and headed out. They were onsite 1hr early and even got the guys hotels for the whole week! Our C.E.O. Even goes out and works with his team. Interesting fact is when he is out covering a shift for someone. He doesn’t show his title. He even answers to the on duty supervisor if needed as he is not there in that role and trusts his team to handle it like he isn’t there!

Shift schedule is an important requisite for getting best quality and reliable output. Shift schedule where more than 2 people are involved to work together, is to be a combination of Old+new, Weak+strong, and compatible people together. Unless this combination is understood, it will lead to a infighting, opinion difference and work will get affected. Two high talkative people should not be in one shift. They will lead to disaster, as no work is done. The Knowledge transfer has to be happen, hence a rotation of shifts every 6 months to an year has also to be done. The Supervisors shift also need to be geled to get a better output.

Thankless jobs, often overlooked or undervalued, play a vital role in our society. Here are a few positive aspects about thankless jobs: 1. Contribution to society: Thankless jobs often involve serving others, such as janitors, garbage collectors, or sanitation workers. These individuals help maintain cleanliness and functionality in our communities, ensuring that we can live in hygienic and safe environments. 2. Essential services: Many thankless jobs involve providing essential services that we rely on daily. For example, healthcare workers, including nurses and medical technicians, work tirelessly to care for the sick. Without them, our healthcare system would struggle to function effectively. 3. Supporting infrastructure: Thankless jobs often support critical infrastructure and keep our society running smoothly. From electricians and plumbers to construction workers and mechanics, these individuals ensure that our buildings, roads, and transportation systems remain operational. 4. Personal satisfaction: While thankless jobs may not receive much recognition or praise from others, the nature of the work can provide personal satisfaction. Some individuals find fulfillment in knowing they are making a difference, regardless of whether it is acknowledged by others. 5. Specialized skill set: Many thankless jobs require specialized skills and expertise. These roles often involve extensive training and knowledge, adding value to the individual's personal and professional development. 6. Teamwork and camaraderie: Some thankless jobs, such as those in the military or emergency services, foster a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork. These individuals work together under challenging circumstances to ensure the safety and well-being of others. 7. Strength and resilience: Thankless jobs often require individuals to endure physically demanding or emotionally draining conditions. The dedication and resilience displayed in these roles can be inspiring, showcasing the strength of individuals who persevere despite the lack of recognition. Remember, while thankless jobs may not receive the appreciation they deserve, they are an essential part of our society and contribute significantly to the well-being and functioning of our communities.

"A culture of silence This class action was needed because on a day-to-day basis, junior doctors mostly do not complain. They internalise distress as failure (not being tough enough) and fear that a diagnosis of depression or anxiety will result in patients and colleagues avoiding them. They don’t report mistreatment or reject overwork as, often, their senior doctors control their career progression. This is important, because contrary to perceptions of doctors as wealthy elites, our research shows junior doctors often find it hard to progress, get a job in their city of choice, or find full-time roles. The pressure on junior doctors to “make it” in an increasingly competitive environment grows stronger. Such professional problems reinforce the culture of not complaining for fear of blow-back. Most of those who do take action, report ineffective or personally harmful outcomes when reporting to senior colleagues. This fulfils a vicious cycle of silence as junior doctors become ill but do not seek help."

Access Control and Customer Service at the City Recital Hall – After Party of Hamilton's Opening Night. An exciting night last Thursday, at the City Recital Hall involved managing access control and providing customer service to distinguished guests, including both Australians and international talents. Access control and customer service responsibilities included managing individuals from neighboring clubs who had been kicked out, as well as gatecrashers or intoxicated patrons. These situations demanded a precise approach—something as simple as a hand gesture, if not used correctly, could escalate the situation. Intoxicated patrons, especially if fueled by drugs or dealing with mental health issues, can be unpredictable. Their emotionally charged and disorderly behavior can be challenging, particularly when refused entry. However, with the right conflict resolution skills, even the most tense situations can be defused, often ending with a handshake and a smile, leaving both parties satisfied. Every experience is an opportunity to learn and refine these crucial skills. 😀
