Richard Radcliffe’s Post

Festive question to make you smile after a difficult year for donors, legacy prospects, boards and fundraisers: What would be your favourite song at your funeral? 1 the final countdown by Europe? 2 the last post (in memory of DM which never dies) 3 you raise me up by Westlife (god forbid) 4 good riddance by Green Day 5 who wants to live forever by Queen Let’s start a global league table #funerals #legators #bequestors #legacyfundraising #philanthropists #fundraising #legacies. #remembrance Remember, legacy giving is all about the smiles you can bring to future generations, the future of the world and future of animals. I hope your 2025 is good for you

1. Spirit in the sky - Norman Greenbaum. (Let's get this party started) 2. Everything is beautiful - Ray Stevens. (See the beauty in everything) 3. Chocolate cake - Melissa Etheridge (who sings when times get tough, we can always look forward to a slice of cake. Perfect reminder of all donor visits and food is offered with your tea or coffee).

Two contrasts for me. I’d like the Sanctus and In Paradisum from Faure’s Requiem, some of the most beautiful music ever written, and it moves me every time I hear or sing it. So that’s about finding beauty in the world. And, I can see clearly now, written by Johnny Nash, which for me is about having hope, things will get better. That’s a reflection of my role as a fundraiser, facilitating joy and hope. Happy Christmas, Richard.

I’ve always fancied Spirit in the Sky on a loop about 18 times. But if they don’t have that then Final Countdown would be wonderful. 🎸🤘

These are brilliant, Richard! For me it’s a toss-up between Life Is A Cabaret (‘when I go… I’m going like Elsie’) and That’s Life (‘I’m gonna roll myself up in a big ball and die - my my!’) 😁 Happy Christmas and New Year to you and Zoë 🎄✨

The final countdown surely! Though Talking Heads 'Burning Down the House' is a strong choice too haha. Have a lovely Christmas, Richard!

Great question! I like Green Green Grass, George Ezra, more about a celebration of a life and the great impact you can have in life (and in our world.. after death too!) Merry Christmas Richard!
