Today I was immersed in climate governance at the Australian Institute of Company Directors Climate Governance Forum in Sydney. Some practical insights around moving from plans and ambitions to implementation and the looming requirements that where approved but the Senate last night. For example: Coles Group finds one of the most challenging gaps in circularity to close is in packaging, specifically plastic and has removed the plastic at the top of their tissue boxes, Stockland has negotiated green concrete and green steel from their suppliers at the same price as regular. This will be the baseline of one of the biggest economic shifts we have seen in our lifetimes and a wave of significant change has already begun with our largest ASX listed companies, But even private companies of a medium size will be impacted. The overarching advice is to start now to understand your baseline and integrate your solutions in your strategies and be ready to deal with all the questions and responses from stakeholders. Great to see you Lynn Smart Joanna Brand Sandra Gamble #climate #netzero #governance #esg #strategy

3moI enjoyed it online - couldn’t justify the travel (time, cost and carbon footprint). No networking online though.
