Rho Impact was recognized TWICE in Ceres, Inc.'s "Investing in the Future" 2024 Report! Koi (Koi.eco), Rho's impact forecasting tool and climate solutions database, as well as the free CRANE Tool (cranetool.org), the 'Carbon Reduction Assessment for New Enterprise' developed in partnership with the Prime Coalition / Project Frame, were recognized as two of the four global tools addressing the critical and emerging space of 'Avoided Emissions.' It is wonderful to be able to support these game changing clean tec and sustainablity startups with our partners at Green Future Investments Ltd. The six successful projects were: BravelyCultured: analysing new biosurfactants from marine microorganisms using advanced methods. These biosurfactants are eco-friendly and offer natural alternatives to petroleum-based surfactants in cosmetics and cleaning products. Cetogenix: developing a new waste conversion technology that unlocks the hidden potential of organic wastes, by adapting a process known as hydrothermal oxidation to deconstruct materials into useful components. The technology has the potential to integrate with wastewater treatment systems, minimising emissions. Flux Aviation: developing ultra safe batteries to enable electric flight, through an early warning system that can reliably detect an impending thermal runaway event. HyWaves: installing a novel technology 50kW solar array and providing a solar to hydrogen test facility, with HyWaves optimised power management and control architecture connecting electrolysers to renewable power sources. This project will link into Cranfield’s wider hydrogen research activities. Radiant Matter: developing plant-derived and biodegradable sparkling-effect materials to meet requirements in a variety of markets. SugaROx: testing a novel biostimulant on oats to improve yield and resilience in cereals. Well done to you all, and I am really excited to hear the outcomes of your technology accelerator programmes! Just back from the Climate Investor Forum 20 March 2024, MCG Melbourne, representing Brightspace and its edge AI solutions for decarbonizing the built environment. The event was a vital meeting ground for those at the forefront of sustainable investment and technology. Key takeaways: the importance of innovative funding for green tech and the massive role large Incumbents can play in accelerating the transition, I was especially impressed with the panel featuring Fortescue, Orica & Lion who are all making major changes and supporting invitation to address the problems the whole world is facing.
